In a statement issued?following an event about the impact of the energy war and price hikes?more generally, the Taiwanese cabinet said that the economy ministry tracked international crude oil prices?and inventories on a daily basis.

The ministry monitors the shipping schedules of incoming cargoes to ensure that it has a full understanding of international crude oil supply and natural gas conditions.

Taiwan's domestic?gas and petroleum inventories are above the required levels, according to the report.

The statement did not give any details. "In addition, new international agreements have been signed and imports of US natural gas will begin to increase in June," it said.

It also said that the ministry's plan included advanced cargo rescheduling and Asian regional cargo reallocation. Spot market purchases were also part of its plan. (Reporting and editing by Tom Hogue, Christian Schmollinger and Ben Blanchard)
