On Wednesday, U.S. president Donald 'Trump' said that the United States will assist in boosting shipping traffic through the Strait o f?Hormuz. Trump agreed on Tuesday to a ceasefire of two weeks with Iran, less than two hours prior to his deadline to Tehran for reopening the strait.

Trump said the deal at the last minute was contingent on Iran agreeing to 'pause its blockade on oil and gas through the Strait of Hormuz, 'which handles approximately one-fifth the global oil shipments.

Trump said, "We will be loading up on?supplies and just 'hanging around' to?ensure that everything runs smoothly."

There will be a lot of positive actions! There will be a lot of money made. Iran can begin the reconstruction process," said Trump. Trump told Agence France Presse that the United States had achieved a "total victory" by agreeing to a ceasefire agreement with Iran for two weeks.

The reopening of the Hormuz Strait and a temporary ceasefire in the fighting would allow Middle Eastern oil exporters to ship large volumes of oil trapped inside the Gulf since hostilities began.

According to Kpler, there are currently around 200 tankers in the area that carry roughly 130 million barrels?of crude oil?and 46 million barrels?of refined fuels.
