Trump claims that the US has sunk Iran's Navy.

Posted to Maritime Reporter on March 1, 2026

Donald Trump, the president of the United States, announced on Sunday that he was launching a military operation to sink Iran's Navy. The U.S. military is sinking Iran's Navy. They have destroyed nine Iranian warships and are "going after" the remaining ones.

Trump announced the news in a social media post, as the Pentagon increased its bombings of Iran's military. B-2 stealth aircraft from the U.S. were used to attack hardened underground Iranian missile sites with 2,000-lb bombs.

Trump claimed that U.S. airstrikes also destroyed Iran's naval headquarters.

Iran's military has responded with hundreds of missiles and drones, and on Sunday the U.S. confirmed that the first three U.S. servicemembers were killed in combat. Central Command of the U.S. Military said that five more people were seriously injured during this conflict.

Trump said that the remaining Iranian warships would be sunk soon after he 'announced' plans to destroy Iran’s Navy.

Trump said, "They'll soon be floating on the bottom of the ocean."
