Trump declares that 'fast-attacking' Iranian ships which come near to the US blockade are going to be eliminated

Donald Trump, the U.S. president, warned on Monday that any Iranian "fast attack" ships that come near to a U.S. Maritime?Blockade against Iran would be 'eliminated.

Trump's threat came shortly after the U.S. ban on vessels entering or departing Iran was due to take effect on Monday at 1400 GMT.

Trump said on Truth?Social that the U.S.-Iran war lasted six weeks and the Iranian navy was "completely obliterated." "We did not target their small number, which they call, 'fast-attack ships', because we didn't consider them a significant threat."

Warning: If any of these ships get close to our BLOCKADE they will be immediately ELIMINATED using the same method of killing that we use on the boats of drug dealers at Sea. Trump wrote that the action was swift and brutal.

Trump was referring the the dozens U.S. attacks carried out against suspected drug boats in Caribbean and Pacific in a campaign which has killed at least 110 people since September.

In retaliation to 'U.S. and Israeli strikes, Iran has effectively shut the Strait of Hormuz. This is a vital waterway which normally carries a fifth or more of global oil supplies.

Tom Sharpe said that although Iran's conventional naval force has been largely destroyed, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps still have a number of options, including mini submarines, mines and jet skis with explosives.
