Tunisia receives tenders for soft wheat and durum, traders report
Initial assessments by European traders suggest that the lowest price offered at Wednesday's?international tender?from Tunisia’s state grains agency?to buy around 100,000 metric tonnes of?soft?wheat?was $256.16 per ton, cost and freight included.
Finagrit, the trading house, was said to have made the lowest offer for two consignments of 25,000 tons.
The reports reflect the assessments of traders, and future estimates of price and volume are possible.
No purchase has been reported. Offers are being considered. If the conditions are not attractive, then it is unlikely that the lowest offer will be accepted. Then came the soft wheat 'offers' of $259, $259.68 and $258.37 per ton from Casillo trading house and $258.37 from Buildcom. The trading house Amber is believed to be the company that made the lowest bid for 100,000 tons durum wheat.
Bunge also offered $327.96 per ton, c&f, for the?durum. This is based on the origin provided. The?durum will also be shipped in four 25,000-ton consignments between February 20 and March 5, depending on the origin. Tunisia’s state grain agency may have bought 125,000 tons of soft wheat, and 100,000 tons durum in its last tender reported on December 11.
