Tunisian state purchaser receives offers for 25,000 tons of corn, traders claim
European traders reported on Tuesday that Tunisia's "state grains agency" is tendering to buy 25,000 metric tonnes of animal feed corn. The traders said that price offers were submitted on Tuesday, and they are still being evaluated. No purchase has yet been reported. The traders initially thought the 'tender' was from a private buyer.
European traders reported that the lowest price was $256.99 per ton with cost and freight included.
Initial reports indicated that eight?trading companies participated in the tender.
The shipment is to be made between 1 March and 30 March, depending on the origin.
The reports reflect the assessments of traders, and further estimates of volumes and prices are still possible. (Reporting and editing by Kirsten Doovan in Hamburg)
