Turkey has bought 255,000 metric tonnes of feed barley at a tender, traders report

The state grain board of Turkey, TMO, has purchased?255,000 metric tons?of animal feed barley?in a?international tender?on Wednesday.

The lowest estimated price was $266.20 per ton, cost and freight included.

TMO's tenders include provisional purchases that are subject to a final confirmation in the coming days. Purchases may be cancelled in full.

The reports reflect the assessments of?traders, and it is still possible to estimate prices and volumes later.

These purchases were made by traders in dollars per ton, c&f, including some supplies, and included port of delivery, seller tons sold, and price.

The disappointing harvest in Turkey of 'barley and other grains' last year led to the need for imports, according to traders. Imports were needed to stabilize prices and guarantee a sufficient supply.
