Turkey receives offers for 175,000 metric tons of barley
Initial assessments by traders indicated that the lowest price offered in the first round of the tender was $270 per ton of supplies delivered from a Turkish warehouse.
Barley that has already been imported to Turkey and is stored in warehouses with customs bonds can be offered in the tender, but not domestic supplies.
They said that no purchase had yet been reported, and they expect to have preliminary results later on Friday. TMO negotiates in several rounds, seeking the lowest bidders at each round. Trading house Bogazici Tahil was said to have made the lowest bid for 25,000 tons of grain for delivery to Iskenderun port.
