Ukraine grain deliveries in ports have lagged behind last year despite a February increase
Ukrzaliznytsia, the state-owned railway company, said 'on Thursday that grain shipments into Ukrainian ports have remained below 'last year levels despite an increase since?February.
Analysts and officials say that the Russian attacks on Ukrainian ports, energy infrastructure and shipping have made it difficult to export goods.
Ukraine is a major European grain exporter and producer.
Ukrzaliznytsia reported that 846,800 tons of grain were delivered to Black Sea port over the period from February 1 to 10 - a 3% increase compared to January's corresponding period.
The report said that 2.4 million tonnes of grain was sent to the ports in January for export, which is 18.4% less than January 2025.
The company said that after a series Russian strikes on storage and processing facilities for sunflower oil, traders redirected shipments of sunflower oil from ports to exports across the western land border.
Ukrzaliznytsia reported that 16,300 tons were shipped to ports in February, and 27,900 to the border of the European Union. Exports of sunflower oil through ports fell by 38% while those via the western border rose 71% since February 2025. (Reporting and editing by Emelia Sithole Matarise; Reporting by Pavel Polityuk)
