UGA, the traders' union, said that Ukrainian exports of key agricultural products fell from 3,58?million metric tonnes in November to 3.28?million metrictons in December, mostly due to smaller shipments?of wheat and soybeans.
Ukraine is one of the largest European exporters and growers of corn, wheat barley?and oilseeds.
UGA reported on Telegram that "Ukrainian Wheat Exports" fell from 958,000 tons a month ago to 619,000 in December, while soybean shipments were more than halved at 203,000 tons. UGA has not given any reasons for the decline in shipments. However, analysts and the farmers' union UAC had previously pointed out that the introduction of export taxes on oilseeds was a factor. Russian attacks against?seaports has also slowed exports.
