Union: weather issues are causing a rise in the export price of Ukrainian rapeseed for 2026.
The export forward price for Ukraine's rapeseed harvest in 2026 could reach $540 to $545 per metric ton, including transport costs, for delivery between July and August, up from $530 to $540 a week earlier, according to the UAC, a major?farmers union.
Ukraine, one of the largest European exporters and growers of rapeseed, harvested around 3,7 million tons in 2024. In?2025 the harvest dropped to 3.3 millions tons, mainly due to bad weather.
In a weekly report, UAC said that it was possible for up to 10% of the rapeseed area to be resown due to "unfavourable winter weather". This could mean we have a limited amount of rapeseed.
Ukraine produces a large amount of winter rapeseed. The rapeseed is sown during autumn and harvested the following spring.
Scientists at the Ukrainian National Academy of Agrarian Sciences stated on Monday that severe frosts in February could cause up to 20% of crops to be lost.
Last month, temperatures dropped as low as minus 28, degrees Celsius (minus 18,4 degrees Fahrenheit) in some areas.
Rapeseed is currently being sold at $565 CPT (carriage to) Black Sea per metric ton.
The consultancy?APK Inform announced that it revised its forecast of?Ukraine’s 2026 Rapeseed Harvest to 3.7 Million Tons from 3.9 Million Tons a month ago. Reporting by Pavel Polityuk. Mark Potter (Editing)
