US Hellfire missile fired at Iranian tanker

On 'Tuesday, the U.S. military fired a Hellfire rocket at a tanker headed 'towards Iran as part of President Donald Trump’s blockade. Trump is pressuring Tehran to negotiate peace on his terms.

Central Command of the U.S. Military posted a video showing the missile striking the tanker. It said it was aimed at the engine room of the M/T Lexie, which is flagged by Botswana.

Central Command issued a statement saying that the crew of the?ship ignored multiple warnings and failed to follow?directions given by U.S. Forces over a 24 hour period.

"A U.S. plane shot a Hellfire missile at the engine room of the tanker, which prevented it from reaching Iran."

The Lexie was the sixth vessel?that??the U.S. Military has disabled since they began their blockade against?Iran in April. The U.S. Military says that it has redirected 122 vessels trying to enter or leave iranian ports. (Reporting and editing by Phil Stewart, Bhargav Asharya and Franklin Paul.
