US military to begin blockade on all ships leaving and coming from Iran Monday

The U.S. Central Command announced that it would 'begin to implement a blockade of all maritime traffic entering and leaving Iranian ports at 10 am on Wednesday, April 13. After President Donald Trump said the U.S. Navy was going to 'blockade the Strait of Hormuz,' the U.S. Central Command announced that it would begin implementing a blockade of all?maritime traffic?entering?and exiting?Iranian ports on April 13 at 10 o'clock ET (1400 GMT).

The 'blockade' will be enforced unbiasedly on all vessels entering or leaving Iranian ports and coastal areas. This includes all Iranian ports in the Arabian Gulf, Gulf of Oman and Gulf of Aden. CENTCOM forces 'will not impede the freedom of navigation of vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz - to and fro non-Iranian port,' CENTCOM stated in a social media statement.

CENTCOM said that additional?information would be given to commercial mariners via a?formal notice?before a?blockade begins.
