Zelenskiy: Asia is interested in Ukraine's expertise on maritime defense
Volodymyr Zelenskiy, the President of Ukraine, said that Ukraine is taking part in consultations on the Strait o f 'Hormuz. He also added that Ukraine has maritime expertise which could be useful in Asia.
Kyiv sent a group of specialists to the Middle East after the war in Iran to share their battle-tested method for 'downing Iranian drones', which Russia used during the early years of its full-scale invasion.
"Ukrainian Military Personnel are participating?in consultations about the future operation of the Strait of Hormuz." Zelenskiy stated that safe navigation is a value of global importance. We know this from our experience in defending the Black Sea.
Ukraine has foiled Russian attempts throughout the war to completely block its access the Black Sea which is critical to the country's military and economy.
It relied on innovative technologies, like naval 'drones', to force Russia's Black Sea Fleet out of a base in the occupied Crimea.
Zelenskiy said that the interest in Ukraine's technology, which is "often more advanced and cheaper than traditional weapons", now extends beyond Europe.
"Our diplomats?received an corresponding request from Asian countries and I have instructed them to work on this quickly," he continued.
