Posted to Maritime Reporter on September 20, 2024

The regional governor of Odesa said that a Russian missile attack has damaged port infrastructure in Odesa and a civilian vessel flying the flag of Antigua.

Governor Oleh Kiper announced on Telegram that four people were injured by the strike.

Kiper stated that debris from an Iskander M missile had damaged civilian and port infrastructure as well as the Antigua flagged civilian ship.

Iskander M is a ballistic rocket that flies faster than sound. It has a range of 500 km.

The attack comes just a week after Ukraine claimed that Moscow had fired a cruise missile at a civilian grain ship traveling from Odesa, Ukraine to Egypt in waters near Romania. (Reporting and editing by Timothy Heritage, Max Hunder)
