Poland is investigating whether explosive devices have been planted after a Russian "shadow fleet's" ship was seen suspiciously moving near a cable connecting Poland and Sweden on Wednesday. According to Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk, Poland will be looking into the matter.

Norwegian police announced on Friday that they arrested a Norwegian vessel with a Russian crew, on suspicion of causing damage to an optical cable in the Baltic Sea. Tromsoe police, in Tromsoe city, north of Norway said that the arrest was made at the request by Latvian authorities.

The owner of the Russian cargo vessel Ursa Major, which sank into the Mediterranean Sea on Wednesday, said that the ship was a victim of an "act of terrorism". This statement came from the state news agency RIA. Two of the 16 crew members were reported missing after an explosion in the engine room.
