LeTourneau, Lamprell Contract for Newbuild Jack-up Kit

LeTourneau Technologies, Inc. announced the sale of a second LeTourneau Super 116E Class jack-up rig kit to Lamprell Energy, Ltd., with final delivery expected by the end of 2008. The rig is to be built at Lamprell's Hamriyah facility located in the United Arab Emirates for Scorpion Offshore Ltd. Lamprell is currently building an initial Super 116E Class jack-up at the same location, also for Scorpion Offshore, under a license from LTI. This order is the 18th for the popular LeTourneau Super 116 series of jack-ups. The Super 116E Class is one of five current LTI jack-up rig designs, and an evolution of the LTI's industry workhorse 116-C Class design. The Super 116E provides up to 2,000 kip greater payload than its predecessor. The rig is designed to drill in up to 350 feet of water in moderate environmental locations and can be outfitted to handle high temperature/high pressure wells.

Rowan Wins Rig Contruction Contract

Rowan Companies, Inc. announced that it's wholly-owned subsidiary, LeTourneau, Inc., has been awarded a contract by Perforadora Central, S.A. de C.V., a Mexican drilling contractor, to construct a Super 116E class jack-up rig.The rig will be an enhanced version of LeTourneau's Super 116-C class jack-up rig, with greater environmental and payload capacity. It will have 511 feet of leg, enabling operations in water depths up to 350 feet in areas like the Gulf of Mexico, Asia and the Persian Gulf

Scorpion Offshore Orders Two Rigs

Scorpion Drilling Ltd (Scorpion) has exercised its option to order two additional LeTourneau Super 116 jackups to be built at Keppel AmFELS in Brownsville, Texas. The contract price for the two rigs, excluding Owner Furnished Equipment, is approximately $180 million. The new units represent the third and fourth jackup rigs in Scorpion’s fleet. Signal Awarded TARZAN CLASS

Signal International, L.L.C. signed a contract with LeTourneau, Inc. to build a TARZAN CLASS jackup drill rig. LeTourneau is procuring the rig, the fourth TARZAN CLASS rig built for Rowan Companies, Inc., its parent corporation. Quick Modification of Offshore Jack-Up Drilling Rigs

Bollinger Fourchon, LLC, a subsidiary of Bollinger Shipyards, demonstrated its ability to modify or repair offshore jack-up drilling rigs quickly and cost effectively, with three recently completed projects. One project, for R&B Falcon Drilling, Inc., involved the replacement of jet piping (which blows away sand and mud around the rig legs for easier movement) and the fabrication and erection of an interior bulkhead on the Cliffs 150 rig in just eight days.

LeTourneau Tech Signs $185m Construction

Rowan Companies, Inc. (NYSE: RDC) announced today that its manufacturing subsidiary, LeTourneau Technologies, Inc. Lamprell announced the completion of construction on the jackup drilling rig, “Al Gharbia”, and its delivery to Abu Dhabi’s National Drilling Company (‘NDC’).  Completion and delivery of the jackup rig, on time and on budget, was marked at an inauguration ceremony held at Lamprell’s Hamriyah facility in the UAE on 22 December. Cosco Delays Delivery of Jack-up Rigs for Northern

 Cosco (Dalian) Shipyard, subsidiary of Cosco Shipyard Group, has reached an agreement with Bermuda-based rig owner Northern Offshore to further delay the delivery dates of two jack-up drilling rigs amid challenging offshore drilling market.    Dalian shipyard received an order for two LeTourneau Super 116E jack-up drilling rigs in November 2013 and the plan was to deliver the rigs in 1H2016 and 2H2016, respectively.   

Lamprell Delivers 9th Jackup Drill Rig to NDC

COSCO Corporation inform that its subsidiary Dalian Shipyard has been contracted to build a jack-up rig based on the LeTourneau Super 116E Class design. The US$184-million order has been placed by Derwent Ocean Limited S.A, part of Foresight Group. COSCO inform that the new rig will be built to ABS classification, with notation A1, and will be a self elevating drilling unit capable of drilling HPHT wells. Lamprell delivers its 11th Super 116E jackup drilling unit Lamprell has completed the construction of jackup drilling rig, the Shuwehat, and has delivered the rig to Abu Dhabi’s National Drilling Company (NDC) within budget and as scheduled.  The delivery follows Lamprell’s announcement on November 12 stating that the group received a new $365 million contract award from NDC for the construction of two further jackup drilling rigs of a similar design and specification.

The Lamprell Group delivers its 12th Super 116E jackup drilling unit.   Lamprell has announced the completion of construction on the jackup rig Jindal Pioneer and its delivery to Dev Drilling Pte Ltd of Singapore, a D. P. Jindal Group Company.     The contract for the Jindal Pioneer rig was signed in January 2013 and this is the second rig with the LeTourneau Super 116E (Enhanced) Class design which Lamprell has delivered to this client

Lamprell Delivers Jackup Rig to Greatship

Lamprell announced it has completed construction on jackup drilling rig Greatdrill Chaaru, delivering the rig to Greatship Global Energy Services Pte. Ltd.    Greatdrill Chaaru has been designed according to the LeTourneau Super 116E (Enhanced) Class design. The rig’s construction was undertaken on a fast-track basis, completed 18 months after initial steel cutting. The naming ceremony was held at Lamprell’s Hamriyah facility in the UAE on February 9.  

Northern Offshore Delays Deliveries for Two Jack-up Rigs

 The Houston-based Rig player Northern Offshore has negotiated a nine month delay for the delivery of two high specification jack up rigs Energy Engager and Energy Encounter.    It will push back the delivery of the Energy Engager and Energy Encounter from a shipyard in China.  The Energy Engager will now be delivered in December 2016 and the Energy Encounter will be delivered in June 2017.
