Fugawi X-Traverse Supports Online Charts

Software manufacturer Northport Systems Inc. announced the addition of Hilton’s Realtime-Navigator support to its online Fugawi X-Traverse collection for use with Fugawi navigation software, Apple iPhone and MacENC for Apple OS X. The combination of Fugawi X-Traverse and Hilton’s Realtime-Navigator gives users an unparalleled set of ocean condition tools to identify fish holding locations. The ultimate saltwater fishing tool, Fugawi X-Traverse provides users of the iPhone, PCs or Macs with the most up-to-date water condition detail. Hilton’s Realtime-Navigator provides boaters with unlimited access to the latest sea surface temperature, altimetry, water color and surface currents, allowing anglers to plan and implement strategies to locate favorable conditions for targeting desired fish species. Fugawi X-Traverse’s support for the innovative Realtime-Navigator information allows users to see their GPS position on saltwater maps using the popular iNavX software for iPhone, Fugawi Marine ENC navigation software for a PC or MacENC for Mac OS X. With the addition of Hilton’s Realtime-Navigator maps to its Fugawi X-Traverse system, users can now download up-to-date maps directly from the internet to their navigation software. Ex-chairwoman of Hanjin Under Scrutiny

The former chairwoman of bankrupt Hanjin Shipping Choi Eun Young  is under investigation for alleged insider trading BBC reports qoting South Korea's Financial Supervisory Service.    She has come under scrutiny after it was revealed she sold all her shares in the firm days before it filed for a debt restructuring programme in April.   Ms Choi and her two daughters sold shares worth 3bn won ($2.7m, £2.1m) in April. She left the company in 2014.   


Hansa Hamburg’s MS Reinbek Christened

A new 1,600 TEU containership built for Hamburg-based issuing house Hansa Hamburg Shipping was christened the MS Reinbek at a special ceremony at the Port of Hamburg's Überseebrücke terminal. MS Reinbek is the second newbuilding in a series of four identical feeder ships built at the Meyer Werft shipbuilding company's Papenburg shipyard for Hansa Hamburg Shipping. Its christening comes six weeks after the christening of the first vessel in the series, the MS Eilbek.

India, China Navies Thwart Somali Pirate Attack

A Chinese navy ship supported by an Indian navy helicopter thwarted an attack by suspected Somali pirates on a Tuvalu-flagged merchant ship, India's defence ministry said on Sunday.   The ship, known as OS 35, was reported to be under attack on Saturday.
