CQ River Cruises Cancelled

The Federal Maritime Commission (FMC) issued a Notice stating that it has been notified that CQ River Cruises LLC, doing business as American Rivers Cruise Line, has cancelled all cruises scheduled to commence prior to June 2, 2006. The company operates the river cruise vessel Columbia Queen. The escrow agent has been directed to handle ticket refunds.


New River Cruise Ship Christened in Antwerp

This launch is part of a $120 million fleet investment program by Vantage Deluxe World Travel. Vantage Deluxe World Travel christened the MS River Splendor in Antwerp, Belgium as the latest addition to its growing European river cruising fleet. 'Miss Belgium', Noemie Happart led the official naming ceremony as the ship's godmother. The new ship will make its inaugural passenger voyage on March 17th from Amsterdam. Measuring 442 feet/135 meters


PVA Elects New Officers and Board

At the 2010 Passenger Vessel Association Convention at MariTrends in Tampa, Fla., the members of the PVA elected their new officers and board members. The new officers are: President Captain Kevin Stier, River Cruises, Scales Mound, Ill. Vice President Captain Jay Spence, Massachusetts Bay Lines, Boston, Mass. American Cruise Lines Orders Four New Ships

Four new ACL Vessels to Enter Service between 2015 & 2017 and to Operate on U.S. Rivers American Cruise Lines announced plans to build four new riverboats for American river cruising, and noted that construction has already begun on the first two ships, with the first to begin cruising in in the spring of 2015. The first two new riverboats are designed to carry between 150 and 200 guests and will cruise the Mississippi River system and the Columbia and Snake Rivers


Bolidt Decking, Flooring for Viking Cruise Flagship

Bolidt Synthetic Products & Systems has secured a contract as exclusive partner to Viking Ocean Cruises for the supply of decking and flooring. The contract covers Viking Star, the first vessel due for delivery in 2015 and its sister ship, Viking Sky, scheduled for delivery in 2016, as well as options on a further two vessels. “Viking Cruises has a long tradition of working with Bolidt through our extensive ‘Longship’ river cruise program,” said Richard Goodwin


Viking Ocean Cruises Extends Order at Fincantieri

Viking Ocean Cruises and Fincantieri signed a memorandum of agreement for the construction of two additional cruise ships, with an option for another two.   The new builds will be sister ships to the six already ordered and will enter Viking fleet in 2021 and 2022, respectively. Fleet Pro to Manage Haimark Cruise Ship

FleetPro says it will manage the technical and hotel operational services of Haimark Line's newly acquired MS Saint Laurent” from May 3rd, 2015. Haimark Line, with offices in Denver, Chicago and Berlin will launch the highly popular Great Lakes and St Lawrence Seaway Cruises with the intimate 210 guest MS Saint Laurent (formerly known as Sea Voyager) which was purposely built for Great Lakes Cruises and expedition-focused exotic Central and South American sailings.
