Todd Shipyards Corporation Announces Dividend

Todd Shipyards Corporation announced that at a meeting conducted on December 17, 2003, its Board of Directors declared a dividend of ten cents ($0.10) per share to be paid March 23, 2004, to all shareholders of record as of March 8, 2004. The Company had previously announced its intent to pay a dividend of ten cents ($0.10) per share payable on December 23, 2003, to all shareholders of record as of December 8, 2003, and quarterly thereafter. Todd Shipyards Corporation is traded on the New York Stock Exchange (symbol TOD). Its wholly owned subsidiary, Todd Pacific Shipyards Corporation, performs a substantial amount of repair and maintenance work on commercial and federal government vessels engaged in various seagoing trade activities in the Pacific Northwest. Its customers include cruise ships, U.S. flag cargo carriers, fishing boats, tankers, tugs and barges, the U.S. Navy, the U.S. Coast Guard, the Washington State Ferry system, the Alaska Marine Highway system, and other government units.

Todd Shipyards Gets $3.1M Overhaul Contract

Todd Pacific Shipyards Corp. has received a $3.1 million contract to overhaul the USNS Guadalupe, a oiler naval vessel that provides fuel for Navy ships at sea, Puget Sound Business Journal reported. According to Todd, a subsidiary of Seattle-based Todd Shipyards Corp., the contract work includes: tank cleaning and inspection, galley equipment replacement, habitability space repairs, main engine overhaul work, replacement of the low pressure air compressor, and various other machinery

WSDOT Opens Bids for Car Ferries

WSDOT Ferries Division took the next step today in the process to build new ferries for the Port Townsend/Keystone route. WSDOT opened bids on Nov. 13, on a contract to construct up to two new 64-car vessels based on the Island Home design. WSDOT Ferries Supplements Bremerton Route

WSDOT Ferries Division (WSF) is adding two 149-passenger foot ferries to the one auto ferry service between Seattle and Bremerton for the Monday afternoon commute and until further notice. Harley Marine Names Two ATBs

Harley Marine Services has named two articulated tug and barge (ATB) units currently under construction at Gunderson Marine (barges) and Conrad Shipyard (tugs), respectively. The vessels include two 116 foot tugs and two 80,000 barrel barges.   The tugs, each being built at Conrad Shipyard of Morgan City, La. are 116 feet long with a beam of 36 feet. MSC: Backlog to Continue into 2012

Maritime Services Corporation (MSC), a marine interior company specializing in turnkey installations, reports that it has a backlog of contracts exceeding $10.5m in value for assignments to be completed this November through March. Vigor to Acquire Alaska Ship & Drydock

Vigor today announced its plan to acquire Alaska Ship and Drydock Inc. (ASD), further consolidating the business of ship repair on the U.S. West Coast.  ASD intends to transition its business and assets to Vigor pending approval of the transfer of ownership by the Alaska Industrial Development and Export Authority (AIDEA), the owner of the Ketchikan Shipyard where ASD is based. The private companies hope to finalize their agreement on or before March 1st.
