Vigor Marine Purchases Marine Industries Northwest

Vigor Marine LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Vigor Industrial, has completed the asset purchase of Marine Industries Northwest, Inc. (MINI) in Tacoma, Wash. The transaction closed on August 9, 2010 and Vigor Marine officially began vessel repair and conversion operations the same day. Key points of contact for the company are General Manager Adam Beck and Ship Repair Manager Mark Donahue. Adam brings 24 years experience in the marine repair industry, in locations ranging from San Diego to Alaska. Vigor Completes Conversion of Barge Klamath

Quigley Named President of US Fab

Kevin Quigley, who built VIGOR’s Everett Shipyard into one of the largest dockside repair centers in the Pacific Northwest, has been named president of VIGOR’s US Fab division. Vigor Industrial inform that the owner of Seward Ship’s Drydock has signed a letter of intent to sell the assets of the Seward, Alaska, shipyard company to Vigor Industrial. Seward Ship’s Drydock operates as a full service shipyard and drydock facility, in Seward, Alaska. Under the terms of the tentative deal, the Seward shipyard would join Vigor as a subsidiary of the company’s Vigor Alaska subsidiary.

Vigor to Build 2 More San Francisco Ferries

Vigor said it was awarded the contract to build two additional ferries for WETA (the Water Emergency Transportation Authority) in San Francisco, Calif.   The shipbuilder started constructing the first two WETA ferries in this class in spring 2015, said Tim Kolb, General Manager of Vigor Ballard.   Under the latest contract, the two new hulls will be constructed at Vigor Ballard (formerly Kvichak) and the superstructure at Vigor’s Harbor Island shipyard.   

Volvo Penta to Power New NYPD Response Boat

Vigor Wins $10.3M Navy Repair Deal

Third Olympic Class Ferry Joins WSF fleet

The new ferry Chimacum joined the Washington State fleet on Friday, April 7 as Washington State Ferries officially accepted the vessel from builder/contractor Vigor. The Chimacum will carry ferry riders on the Seattle/Bremerton route this summer after crews complete vessel outfitting, operational training and drills.    Christened Chimacum, the new ferry’s name honors the Chemakum tribe’s gathering place, which is now the present day town of Chimacum near Port Townsend

Veotec Supplies Water Removal Vanes to Vigor

Air intake systems designer and manufacturer Veotec said it has supplied air inlet vanes (vertical louvers) and CP2 filters to U.S. shipbuilder Vigor for two pilot boats delivered to the Port of Duqm Company SAOC, Sultanate of Oman. Vigor to Add Third Drydock in Seattle

Vigor Begins Building NYPD Response Boat

U.S. shipbuilder Vigor said it has begun constructing a fifth 45’ Response Boat - Medium C (RB-M C) for its long-time customer, the New York Police Department (NYPD) Harbor Unit.   The vessel will be fabricated at Vigor Ballard (formerly Kvichak Marine) in the Seattle metro area with delivery expected in November. It will be the seventh RB-M C built for three different police departments.   The RB-M C is the commercial variant of the Response Boat - Medium (RB-M)
