OW Bunker Launches Physical Operations in New York

OW Bunker, international physical distributors and resellers of marine fuels, announced the launch of physical distribution operations in the ports of New York and New Jersey. The move follows the start of physical operations in Los Angeles and Long Beach this past March. With ports in New York and New Jersey, OW Bunker’s furthers its strategy in expanding its physical presence in key North America locations.   Adrian Tolson, General Manager, OW Bunker North America said, “The positive customer response to our physical operations in LA and Long Beach confirmed that there is a real demand for high value services in major ports throughout the US region. Launching physical distribution services in New York and New Jersey further strengthens our network of physical capabilities across North America, providing customers with adaptable and reliable services from East to West Coasts that help them to manage costs, ensure quality, and improve their operational efficiencies and performance.”   The company will provide customers with a range of products including RMG 380 (HSFO and LSFO), RMK 700, RMK 500 and LSMGO at all berths and anchorages in the area. OW Bunker will extend its relationship with barging company, Westoil Marine Services, which includes the charter of a double-hulled barge and additional barges will also be utilized as required.

Imtech Marine recently launched a service app, under its service and nav/com brand Radio Holland. The aim of the new app is to facilitate owners and operators around the world to quickly find the nearest Imtech Marine/RH service location for service and maintenance, via their smart phone. MARAD: $5 Mln Available for Marine Highway Projects

The Maritime Administration (MARAD) has announced the availability of $5 million in Federal funding to expand marine highway service by creating new or expanding existing services along designated Marine Highway Routes.   A Marine Highway Project is a planned service, or expansion of an existing service, on a designated Marine Highway Route, that provides new modal choices to shippers of cargo, reduces transportation costs and provides public benefits including reduced air emissions

ZF Marine Restructures East Coast Activities

ZF Marine LLC, the North American subsidiary of ZF Marine Group in Padova, Italy has implemented some changes to its East Coast service network. Unitor ASA and BP Marine, who co-founded The Marine Alliance B.V. joint venture three years ago, have now decided to dissolve this partnership and focus individually on their respective customers’ requirements.
