Meucci Promoted to Sales Manager ZF Marine Electronics

ZF Marine Electronics has promoted Jim Meucci to Sales Manager. Meucci started with Mathers Controls over 25 years ago, and most recently held the position of Regional Sales Manager at ZF Marine Electronics headquarters in Mukilteo, Wash. In his new position, Meucci has overall sales responsibility for ZF Marine Electronics' controls systems business in the North America region. ZF Marine Electronics LLC, (formerly ZF Mathers LLC) supplies both electronic and pneumatic vessel control systems. Product brands for the controls group include ClearCommand, MiniCommand, MicroCommander, SkiCommand and SmartCommand.

Teixeira Appointed VP Marketing, CMA CGM Group

ACR Announces Company Changes

In a move to bridge electronics and an increase in marine sales, the Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., ACR team has assumed new titles and responsibilities. Tony Smith, a 15 year sales veteran at Fort Lauderdale-based ACR Electronics, has been promoted to Sales Director, assuming the responsibilities of marine and bridge electronics, government, outdoor and aviation sales for the company¹s international division, which covers Asia, the Pacific Rim and Latin America.

Kalmar, MSC Pact for Container-Handling Equipment

Damen Begins New Tug Build for Saqr Ports

 A keel-laying ceremony was held on August 28 at Damen Shipyards Sharjah for a new ASD Tug 2913 for Saqr Ports, part of Rash Al Khaimah (RAK) Ports.   Damen will deliver the vessel to RAK Ports next year, in time for the opening of a new bulk terminal at Saqr Port, the main bulk-handling port in the Middle East. RAK Ports required a tug that was both compact and powerful, in order to handle the large carriers that will call at the port.

RoRo Ferry Delivered to Gambia

Damen has delivered a road ferry to a client in the Gambia more than a month ahead of schedule. The ferry was built entirely in the Netherlands to a very tight deadline, with the hull constructed in just 70 days at Damen’s subsidiary Niron Staal in Amsterdam. Valmet to Supply Automation for Icebreaking Tanker

Valmet said it has been awarded a contract to supply automation for an arctic icebreaking tanker to be built by Arctech Helsinki Shipyard Inc. in Finland.   The tanker (NB 515) is designed by Arctech and measures 229 m in length and 32.5 m in breadth. It will be built to ice class of Arc 7 and can reliably break ice almost two meters thick.    The vessel will be tasked with transporting gas condensate year-round from the Yamal Peninsula to Europe and Asia
