Trailer Launched at IHC Holland Merwede

On April 28, the trailing suction hopper dredger Marieke, built for the Belgian contractor Dredging, Environmental and Marine Engineering (DEME) took place at IHC Holland Merwede in Sliedrecht, the Netherlands. IHC Holland Dredgers BV and DEME signed the contract for the construction of Marieke in 2005. The construction of the vessel was subcontracted to IHC Holland Beaver Dredgers BV, and the keel was laid down in September 2005. Marieke was designed for working in shallow or deep water, on maintenance jobs, beach replensihment, and land reclamation projects. Source: Dredging News


Alewijnse Marine Systems To Deliver Amcs/Imc And DP Systems

Alewijnse Marine Systems has signed a contract for the delivery and installation of the alarm monitoring control system, integrated dredging control system and dynamic positioning system onboard two new, 14000m³ dredgers to be constructed at Uljanik Shipyard in Pula, Croatia for the Jan De Nul Group.  The two trailing suction hopper dredgers will have an LOA of 148m and a hopper capacity of 14,000m³, and will add to the Jan De Nul Group's existing fleet of 26 hopper dredgers.


UK Shipyard Wins Long-term Dredger Drydock Contract

A&P Tees, part of A&P North East, has won an exclusive contract from UK dredge contractor CEMEX UK Marine, part of the CEMEX UK Group, for the drydocking of the company’s three trailing suction hopper dredgers over a five-year period. Due to the severity of the work undertaken by dredgers, it is expected that each vessel will be drydocked on a regular basis. Royal IHC Names Dredger Mahury

Shipbuilder Royal IHC has named the Mahury, a 1,840m3 capacity twin-screw trailing suction hopper dredger (TSHD) on October 29, 2015 at its partner MTG Dolphin’s shipyard in Varna, Bulgaria. The new TSHD is Baggerbedrijf de Boer – Dutch Dredging’s fourth IHC-built vessel. The ceremony was performed by Mrs. Gressier, who was invited to perform the naming of the ship due to the close (working) relationship between Dutch Dredging and the Gressier family.  


Cosco Bags Contract for Trailing Suction Hopper Dredger

 COSCO (Guangdong) Shipyard Co., Ltd, has secured a  contract from a European buyer to build one 15, 000m 3 Trailing Suction Hopper Dredger.    The Singapore-listed shipbuilder COSCO Guangdong and the buyer have agreed  to keep the contract price  confidential.    The vessel, to be built at its Guangdong yard, is scheduled for delivery in the second  quarter of 2018.  


VOSTA Package for New Manson Dredge

Seattle-based Manson Construction Co ordered a dredge component package with VOSTA Inc. for the 9200 m2 Trailing Suction Hopper Dredge they are building at Alabama Shipyards. At present the dredge is under construction and will be delivered according to planning in October 2005. Via VOSTA LMG USA distributor Hagler Systems, VOSTA Inc will deliver 3 x 38 inch universal dragheads for optimal dredging results, the jet system into the hopper for mixture fluidization and a VOSTA LMG MK3-28


Boskalis Expands Fleet With The Coastway

Coastway, a new 4,900 m3 trailing suction hopper dredger for Westminster Dredging Company of Fareham, will be launched today at the Merwede Shipyard in Hardinxveld-Giessendam. Mrs. J.M. van Gelder-Wolff, wife of R. van Gelder, chairman of the board of Management of Royal Boskalis Westminster nv, will perform the inauguration and launch of the Coastway. The Coastway, with its shallow draught and large loading capacity, has been designed to carry out on and foreshore beach replenishment

Boskalis takes new semi-submersible heavy transport vessel and hopper dredger into service    Royal Boskalis Westminster N.V. informed that Dockwise vessel White Marlin was named and christened during a ceremony in Guangzhou, China. The semi-submersible heavy transport vessel will be mobilized to Singapore for its maiden transport of two drilling rigs for discharge in Abu Dhabi.   With its overall length of 216 meters, beam of 63 meters and deadweight of 72,000 metric tons


Royal IHC Launches Dredger for Chinese Client

  The naming and launch ceremony of the trailing suction hopper dredger (TSHD) JUN YANG 1 took place on Saturday 19 December 2015 at Royal IHC's shipyard in Kinderdijk, The Netherlands. The dredger is being built for CCCC Guangzhou Dredging Co., Ltd (GDC), and the ceremony was performed by Ms. Li Wen Ci, the wife of H.E. The Ambassador of the People's Republic of China in The Netherlands. IHC has a long-standing relationship with GDC and both companies cooperated closely in the design

A newly built Damen Trailing Suction Hopper Dredger (TSHD) 650 has completed sea trials in Shanghai and is now underway to new owner, Gippsland Ports in Australia on her own keel. The TSHD, named Tommy Norton, is the first Damen dredger built for Australia.
