Alstom Receives Order for Ship Sets

National Steel and Shipbuilding Company (NASSCO), a subsidiary of General Dynamics, has selected Alstom to supply the complete power package for two ship sets for Totem Ocean Trailer Express, Inc. For each ship set, Alstom will provide two 19.75 MW electric motor controllers, the switchgear, transformers and control system. The value of the contract is $24 million, and the first ship set is to be delivered to the shipyard early in 2001.
