Roosevelt’s great great-grandson, Simon Roosevelt, greeted and congratulated members at the Opening Ceremony, Saturday, June 29, bringing full circle the participation of the Roosevelt family in the Navy League. With the theme “Citizens in Support of the Sea Services,” the Centennial year has been marked by hundreds of events and programs sponsored by the 330 councils in the U.S. and around the world.
