Bouchard Transportation Co., Inc., an independently-owned ocean-going petroleum barge company, was recognized by The Chamber of Shipping America (CSA) with 40 coveted Jones F. Devlin Awards.  The awards, given out in New Orleans, La. on May 29, were presented to manned merchant vessels that have operated for two full years or more without a crew member losing a full turn at watch because of an occupational injury.

“Safety is the top priority for all Bouchard employees,” said Morton S. Bouchard III, President and CEO of Bouchard Transportation Co., Inc.  “While we are continually striving to advance our operations, it is extremely gratifying to see our dedicated team recognized for the hard work, diligence and commitment to safety they display every day.”

In total, Bouchard vessels achieved the equivalent of 271 years without a lost-time injury in 2013.  Thirty-three of the recognized vessels went without incident for 5 or more years, with the B. No. 285 and B. No. 275 achieving 27 and 18 consecutive years without LTI, respectively.
