Navantia’s Cartagena shipyard has carried out, on 16th. February, for the first time a real exit trial from the hatch of the “Carrera” submarine, second unit that is being built for the Chilean Navy.
This trial verifies the correct installation of the rescue equipment (EQ-4) as part of the usual trials prior to the delivery of the submarine.
These trials, done in collaboration with the Spanish Navy Diving Unit, took place at 14 m depth and with the highest security controls, avoiding the risk of the free exit of a person from the submarine hatch.
