Bath Iron Works Awarded $18m Contract for Farragut

The U.S. Navy awarded a $17.9m contract to Bath Iron Works, a subsidiary of General Dynamics to perform Post-Shakedown Availability (PSA) maintenance, repair and upgrade work for the Arleigh Burke-class Guided Missile Destroyer USS FARRAGUT (DDG 99).

Work on the ship is scheduled to begin in February 2007 and will be performed by a Bath Iron Works - Atlantic Dry Dock Corporation Team in Atlantic's facilities near the ship's home port of Mayport, Fla. Services to be provided include engineering and management services; labor and procurement of material for system upgrades and to correct government-responsible deficiencies; performance of specified PSA work items, including tests and post-repair sea trials; and additional tasking to complete emergent repairs. The PSA will be completed in June 2007.
