Europort Istanbul Opens

This morning, the maritime exhibition Europort Istanbul 2011 was opened with great ceremony by Mr. Hamza Taşkeser, Assistant Undersecretary for Turkish Maritime Affairs. His presence underlines the prominent position of the event for the Turkish and the international shipbuilding industry. Europort Istanbul can be visited until Saturday the 26th of March.
As the largest maritime exhibition in Turkey, Mr. Hamza Taşkeser, Assistant Undersecretary for Turkish Maritime Affairs, stated the importance of Europort Istanbul as a strong international economic platform: “Europort Istanbul brings maritime companies and professionals from all over the world together. It has proved to bring high level business opportunities to our important shipbuilding sector. Moreover, the maritime exhibition is an excellent showcase to the world to emphasize the high quality level of our Turkish shipbuilding industry.”

All sectors of the maritime industry come together at Europort Istanbul. More than 233 exhibitors from 36 countries are representing 747 brands. One third of the exhibitors comes from countries outside Turkey. Europort Istanbul takes places from 23 to 26 March 2011 in the Istanbul Expo Center. The exhibition is organised by NTSR and Ahoy Rotterdam in exclusive cooperation with DTO, the Turkish Chamber of Shipping.
