Trailer Launched at IHC Holland Merwede

On April 28, the trailing suction hopper dredger Marieke, built for the Belgian contractor Dredging, Environmental and Marine Engineering (DEME) took place at IHC Holland Merwede in Sliedrecht, the Netherlands. IHC Holland Dredgers BV and DEME signed the contract for the construction of Marieke in 2005. The construction of the vessel was subcontracted to IHC Holland Beaver Dredgers BV, and the keel was laid down in September 2005. Marieke was designed for working in shallow or deep water, on maintenance jobs, beach replensihment, and land reclamation projects. Source: Dredging News
