Northrop Grumman Delivers Integrated Bridge System for Turkish Megayacht.

Northrop Grumman Corporation's (NYSE:NOC) Sperry Marine business unit has delivered a state-of-the-art suite of navigation electronics for a new megayacht being built by Proteksan-Turquoise Yachts in Turkey.

The new megayacht is being equipped with a complete Northrop Grumman Sperry Marine VisionMaster FT integrated bridge system (IBS) with TotalWatch multifunction displays. All system components are type-approved to meet International Maritime Organization (IMO) and International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) performance standards. The system links together all of the bridge subsystems and sensors in a highly integrated Ethernet network, with the widescreen displays embedded in custom cabinetry to meet the yacht's luxurious decor.

The equipment is being supplied through STT International Limited, Northrop Grumman Sperry Marine's reseller agent for Turkey, and the installation will be made by STT Deniz Ticaret ve Servis Ltd., the company's authorized service representative in Turkey.

"We have enjoyed a strong position in the megayacht marketplace for many years as one of the leading suppliers of gyrocompasses, autopilots and other systems," said Alan Dix, managing director of Northrop Grumman Sperry Marine. "We are now rapidly capturing an increased market share in complete integrated bridge systems as megayacht builders and designers recognize the superior performance of our VisionMaster FT technology." The 72.64-meter (238.3-foot) megayacht (NB54), currently named MY Vicky, is the largest ever built by Proteksan-Turquoise Yachts. The steel and aluminum alloy vessel is scheduled for completion in the first quarter of 2012.
