First Ship-to-Containership LNG Bunkering Ops in Port of Marseille Fos’

TotalEnergies and CMA CGM launched Marseilles’ inaugural ship-to-containership Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) bunkering operation in the Port of Marseille Fos, Southern France.CMA CGM BALI, a 15,000 TEU LNG-powered containership is deployed on the MEX 1service, connecting Asia and South Europe. The ship was refuelled by TotalEnergies’ Gas Vitality, the first LNG bunker vessel based in France, with around 6,000 cu. m. of LNG, by means of a ship-to-ship transfer alongside the Eurofos container terminal, while the containership carried out cargo operations simultaneously.

DP World Orders Kalmar Straddle Carriers

The cargo-handling solutions provider Kalmar is to supply DP World with a total of 63 Kalmar Hybrid Straddle Carriers for use at four of its European container terminals: 12 units will be delivered to GMP in Le Havre, France; 20 units to Eurofos in Marseille, France; 19 units to Antwerp Gateway in Belgium; and 12 units to DP World Southampton in the UK.The order was booked in Cargotec's 2019 Q1 order intake, and the majority of the machines is expected to be delivered by the end of 2019, said Kalmar, part of Cargotec.Kalmar and DP World, one of the world's leading operators of marine and inland terminals, have developed a highly successful partnership over many years of working together.

DP World Eyes France

Massive Quay Cranes for PortSynergy / Eurofos

PortSynergy / Eurofos have purchsed a set of massive quay cranes, reportedly the largest in the world, becoming the first container terminal to operate cranes of this size. Two cranes 54 meters high with a 72 meters outreach manufactured by Paceco España will be mounted in situ on the PortSynergy / Eurofos terminal in Fos-sur-Mer near Marseille. Crane erection will begin in February 2016 with a view to commissioning in September / October 2016. The acquisition of these quay cranes will provide Fos-sur-Mer with the capability to process all types of vessels…

Navis to Deploy Its N4 TOS to France's Largest Container Terminal

Navis has reached an agreement to deploy its N4 terminal operating system (TOS) to the largest container terminal in France, the company announced today. The license agreement was with EUROFOS, operator of France's Mediterranean at Fos-sur-Mer terminal, which operates off the coast of France and handles 600,000 TEUs annually. Over the past three years, EUROFOS has invested 65 million Euros in the modernization and development of Mediterranean at Fos-sur-Mer, readying the terminal for 20 percent anticipated growth in the next five years. Prior to selecting N4, EUROFOS Mediterranean at Fos-sur-Mer relied on an in-house system and outsourced IT support for the TOS. Paraguay's Puerto Caacupe-mi went live with the N4 TOS last month.

Kalmar Electric Straddle Carriers for Eurofos

Kalmar, part of Cargotec, is to continue its long-standing relationship with Eurofos, France's largest terminal, with delivery of twelve new electric straddle carriers. The order was booked in Cargotec's 2014 third quarter order intake, with deliveries scheduled for February 2015. Situated in the Port of Fos, close to Marseille, Eurofos is investing heavily in future growth. The new electric straddle carriers were chosen for their excellent reliability, high quality and low environmental impact, and will expand and partly replace the terminal's existing fleet of Kalmar and Sisu equipment. The low-maintenance Kalmar straddle carriers are capable of stacking 40 -ton containers three high and comply with the latest exhaust emission regulations.

New Car Terminal at Marseilles Fos Port

Following a call for tenders in November last year, the Marseilles Fos port authority has chosen automotive logistics specialist TEA – part of the Charles Andre transport group - to develop and operate an import/export terminal for new cars at the Brule-Tabac quay in Fos. The decision was announced during a review of the port’s first five years under a revised management structure decreed by the French government in 2008. This established three governing bodies – the executive, supervisory and development boards – which are about to be renewed after completing their 2009-2013 terms of office.

CMHI and CMA CGM Complete Terminal Link Transaction

China Merchants Holdings (International) Company Limited (CMHI) and CMA CGM are pleased to announce the completion on June 11, 2013 of the sale and purchase of the 49% equity stake in Terminal Link, upon the obtaining of all consents and approvals in various jurisdictions and the completion of certain pre-closing corporate reorganizations as stipulated under the terms of the Acquisition Agreement. CMHI's intention to acquire from CMA CGM 49% equity interest in Terminal Link for €400 million was announced earlier in January. The Completion was formalised by the signing by both parties of a Shareholders Agreement.
