Costamare Adds Three Vessels

Costamare accepted delivery of three second hand vessels during the last quarter ended June 30, 2017, said Gregory Zikos, Chief Financial Officer of Costamare. In a press statement he said that the vessels have been chartered for periods ranging from 5 to 7 years. "During the quarter we entered into debt financing agreements for two of them and we are into discussions regarding the debt finance of the third ship. As of today all of our new building program is fully funded with remaining equity commitments amounting to only US $ 2 million, due in 2018," he added.

Seaspan Takes Delivery of 50th Containership

Seaspan Corporation (NYSE:SSW) announced that it accepted delivery of the Calicanto Bridge from Jiangsu Yangzijiang Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. (YZJ) on May 28, 2010. The 2500 TEU containership is Seaspan's eighth delivery in 2010, expanding the company's operating fleet to 50 vessels. Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha Ltd. (K-Line) of Japan accepted delivery of the Calicanto Bridge on May 30, 2010. The vessel is on charter to K-Line under a ten-year, fixed-rate time charter. It is the last of two 2500 TEU sister ships and the second of a total of seven vessels to be chartered by Seaspan to K-Line. Furthermore, this ship is the last of ten 2500 TEU vessels delivered from YZJ to Seaspan.

Seaspan Accepts Delivery of 52nd Containership

Seaspan Corporation (NYSE:SSW) accepted delivery of a 4250 TEU containership named the CSAV Lebu from Jiangsu Yangzijiang Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. (YZJ) on June 4, 2010. This is Seaspan's tenth delivery in 2010, expanding the Company's operating fleet to 52 vessels. Compañia Sud Americana de Vapores (CSAV) of Chile accepted delivery of the CSAV Lebu on June 7, 2010. The vessel is on charter to CSAV under a six-year, fixed-rate time charter. It is the last of four 4250 TEU sister ships to be chartered by Seaspan to CSAV, and is the last of fourteen vessels delivered from YZJ to Seaspan.

Navy Accepts Delivery of Mesa Verde LPD 19

The Navy accepted delivery of Mesa Verde (LPD 19) from Northrop Grumman Ship Systems on Sept. 28. This marked the third of the San Antonio class of amphibious transport dock ships that the NGSS has delivered. Accepting for the Navy during a simple ceremony aboard the ship was Capt. Beth Dexter, the supervisor of shipbuilding representative for the Gulf Coast. On Oct. 1, the crew moved aboard the 684 foot-long warship. For the first time, Mesa Verde Sailors and Marines assumed their regular duties, such as standing watches, preparing meals for the crew and training. Over the next two months, as Northrop Grumman Ingalls Operations puts the finishing touches on the ship, the crew will be participating in various inspections and certifications including a Light-Off Assessment.

Seaspan Accepts Delivery of Vessel

Seaspan Corporation announced the delivery of its 21st vessel, the Maersk Matane, a 4800 TEU containership built in 1989. The vessel was purchased from A.P. Moller Maersk A/S and will be time chartered back to APMM for five years from delivery. APMM has options to extend the charter by up to four years from the end of the firm charter period. The Maersk Matane, formerly named the Margarethe Maersk, is the second of four sister vessels to be purchased from and chartered back to APMM.

Seaspan Accepts Delivery of Vessel

Seaspan Corporation announced the delivery of its 22nd vessel, the Maersk Marystown, a 4800 TEU containership built in 1989. The vessel was purchased from A.P. Moller Maersk A/S and will be time chartered back to APMM for five years from delivery. APMM has options to extend the charter by up to four years from the end of the firm charter period. The Maersk Marystown, formerly named the Maren Maersk, is the third of four sister vessels to be purchased from and chartered back to APMM.

Crowley Marine Services Accepts Delivery of Tan'Erliq

Crowley Marine Services received delivery of Tan'erliq - the second of two new 10,192 hp tractor tugs from Crowley Maritime Corporation subsidiary, Vessel Management Services. Measuring 155 ft. in length, Tan'erliq and sister vessel Nanuq are the largest and strongest of the cycloidal tugs. The tugs, which together form the Prince William Sound Class, have specifically designed and developed form CMS under contract with Alyeska Pipeline Service Company for tanker escort and spill response operations in Valdez Harbor and Prince William Sound, Alaska.

TEN Accepts Delivery of Nine-Vessel Western Petroleum Fleet

Tsakos Energy Navigation Limited (TEN) announced the completion of delivery of three LR Aframax newbuilding contracts and six 2005-built MR handymax tankers all with 1A ice-class designations and capable of carrying petroleum products. The first vessel, the Artemis, was delivered on April 11, 2006 while the remaining eight vessels and contracts were delivered in the course of the following four weeks. Of the six MR tankers delivered four will operate in extended time-charters while two will enter the spot market.

Shipping Corp. of India Acquires New Vessel

According to a September 19 report from The Economic Times, the Shipping Corporation of India Ltd (SCI) said that it has accepted delivery of a Large Range-I (LR-I) Product Tanker, MT Swarna Brahmaputra. The vessel is the third of SCI's six LR-I size product tankers which are being constructed at STX Shipyard, one of the shipyards of repute in Korea. SCI Takes Crude Container Delivery

State-run Shipping Corporation of India (SCI) has accepted delivery of a crude container named “Desh Vishal” from Daewoo Shipbuilding Marine Engineering Co. The company had placed orders for two very large crude containers (VLCCs) in October 2005 with the South Korean company. “Desh Vishal” has a gross tonnage of 162,412 tons and is the largest vessel in the Indian Register, according to the company.

Seaspan Accepts Delivery of 4,600-TEU Containership

Seaspan Corporation has announced  that it accepted delivery of a 4,600-TEU containership, the MOL Efficiency. The containership was constructed by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd. in 2003 and expands the Company's operating fleet to 71 vessels. The MOL Efficiency is on charter to Mitsui O.S.K. Lines Ltd. (MOL) under a two-year, fixed-rate time charter. The ship is the sixth of a total of eight vessels to be chartered by Seaspan to MOL.  

Axeon: No Additional Kurdish Crude Buys

U.S. refiner Axeon Specialty Products said it won't buy or accept delivery of any cargoes of disputed Kurdish Shaikan crude oil for its Paulsboro, New Jersey refinery, according to a press release received on Monday. Several cargoes of the oil have recently reached U.S. soil and Iraq's central government has moved to block independent exports of crude by the Kurdistan Regional Government. Earlier this month, refiner LyondellBasell, confirmed it recently purchased "modest quantities" of what public records show is Kurdish Shaikan crude and said it would scrap further purchases of the disputed oil for the time being.   Reporting By Terry Wade

Korean Shipbuilder Delivers 13,100 TEU Container Ship

Seaspan Corporation announce that it accepted delivery of a 13100 TEU containership, the COSCO Faith. The new containership, which was constructed by Hyundai Heavy Industries Co., Ltd., is Seaspan's second delivery in 2012 and expands the Company's operating fleet to 67 vessels. The COSCO Faith is on charter to COSCO Container Lines Co., Ltd. ("COSCON") under a twelve-year, fixed-rate time charter. The ship is the sixth of eight 13100 TEU sister ships and the 16th of a total of 18 vessels to be chartered by Seaspan to COSCON. Seaspan is a leading independent charter owner and manager of containerships, which it charters primarily pursuant to long-term fixed-rate time charters to major container liner companies.

Costamare Defers Newbuild Vessel Delivery

Athens-based containership owner Costamare Inc. pushes back 11,000-teu newbuildings into 2017 as it reports strong third quarter figures which topped Wall Street expectations. It has agreed to postpone the deliveries of the remaining four newbuilding 11,010 TEU containerships, ordered through the company’s joint venture with York Capital. The four vessels, three of which were scheduled to join the company’s fleet in October 2016, are now expected to be delivered from South Korean shipbuilder Hanjin Heavy Industries in the first quarter of 2017.

New OSV for India's Offshore Oilfields

The Shipping Corporation of India Ltd. (SCI) has accepted delivery of the 80 T bollard pull OSV “M.V. SCI Mukta”. SCI had signed contracts for acquisition of four newbuilding with Bharati Shipyard Limited, India. The first two vessels, “m.v. SCI Panna” and “m.v. SCI Ratna” were delivered to SCI last year. “SCI Mukta” is the third vessel of the series. The fourth vessel is scheduled for delivery by June 2012. The latest vessel has a gross tonnage of 2,039 tonnes and deadweight of 1,966 tonnes, classed with IRS and been built to comply with the latest and most stringent international regulations. In the offshore sector, SCI presently has a fleet of 12 vessels of which 9 vessels were acquired during the mid eighties.

Several Milestones on US Navy, Coast Guard Builds

GE’s Marine Solutions noted that several milestones were recently marked on U.S. Navy and Coast Guard surface combatant programs that all use GE’s LM2500 aeroderivative marine gas turbines. On December 23, 2016, the U.S. Navy accepted delivery of the fifth Independence-variant Littoral Combat Ship (LCS), the future USS Gabrielle Giffords. GE will provide 20 LM2500 gas turbines for the Austal USA LCS program, part of a contract for up to 10 ships to be built by Austal USA. The two LM2500s are arranged in a Combined Diesel And Gas turbine (CODAG) configuration with two diesel engines.

Seaspan Corporation (NYSE:SSW) announced today that it accepted delivery of a 10000 TEU containership, the MOL Benefactor. The new containership, which was constructed at Jiangsu Yangzi Xinfu Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., is Seaspan's ninth 10000 TEU SAVER design containership and first delivery in 2016. This is the 18th 10000 TEU vessel using Seaspan's fuel-efficient SAVER design constructed at Yangzijiang. The MOL Benefactor will commence an eight-year, fixed-rate time charter with Mitsui O.S.K. Lines Ltd. ("MOL").

Scorpio Tankers Sell One Accept New One

Scorpio Tankers Inc. announce sale of the 'STI Diamond', accept delivery of newbuild 'STI Topaz'. The Company completed the sale of the 'STI Diamond' and sale of a second vessel, the STI Coral, is expected to be completed in September 2012. Scorpio took delivery of the STI Topaz, the second of ten vessels scheduled for delivery under its newbuilding program. Upon delivery, the vessel began a time charter for up to 120 days at $16,200 per day plus an adjustment based on the fuel consumption. The vessel was partially financed by drawing down $23.0 million on its Newbuilding Credit Facility with Credit Agricole Corporate and Investment Bank and Skandinaviska Enskilda Banken AB. Scorpio Tankers Inc. is a provider of marine transportation of petroleum products worldwide.

Seaspan Corporation (SSW) has accepted delivery of a 14000 TEU containership, the YM Wellhead. The new containership, which was constructed at Hyundai Heavy Industries Co., Ltd., is Seaspan's second 14000 TEU SAVER design containership and third delivery in 2015. The YM Wellhead will commence a ten-year, fixed-rate time charter with Yang Ming Marine Transport Corp. (Yang Ming). Yang Ming may extend the charter for up to an additional two years. The ship is the second of a total of eight 14000 TEU SAVER design vessels to be chartered by Seaspan to Yang Ming.

Seaspan Corporation announced today that it accepted delivery of a 10000 TEU containership, the MOL Beacon. The new containership, which was constructed at Jiangsu Yangzi Xinfu Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., is Seaspan's seventh 10000 TEU SAVER design containership and first delivery in 2015. This is the twelfth 10000 TEU vessel using Seaspan's fuel-efficient SAVER design constructed at Yangzijiang. The MOL Beacon will commence an eight-year, fixed-rate time charter with Mitsui O.S.K. Lines Ltd. ("MOL").

HHI Delivers 14,000 TEU Box Ship to Seaspan

Seaspan Corporation accepted delivery of a 14,000 TEU containership, the YM Witness. The new containership, which was constructed at Hyundai Heavy Industries Co., Ltd., is Seaspan's fourth 14,000 TEU SAVER design containership and fifth delivery in 2015. The YM Witness will commence a 10-year, fixed-rate time charter with Yang Ming Marine Transport Corp. Yang Ming may extend the charter for up to an additional two years. The ship is the fourth of a total of eight 14,000 TEU SAVER design vessels to be chartered by Seaspan to Yang Ming. The delivery of the YM Witness expands the Company's operating fleet to 82 vessels.

The new containership, which was constructed at Hyundai Heavy Industries Co., Ltd., is Seaspan's sixth 14,000 TEU SAVER design containership and eighth delivery in 2015. The YM Warmth will commence a 10-year, fixed-rate time charter with Yang Ming Marine Transport Corp. Yang Ming may extend the charter for up to an additional two years. The ship is the sixth of a total of eight 14,000 TEU SAVER design vessels to be chartered by Seaspan to Yang Ming. The delivery of the YM Warmth expands the company's operating fleet to 85 vessels.
