Dana Gas Inks Adyard Offshore Platform Contract

Middle East’s leading regional private sector natural gas company, Dan Gas, has awarded Adyard Abu Dhabi a subsidiary of Interserve plc, a $17 million contract for the fabrication of an offshore platform for the Zora Field Development Project which spans the territorial waters of Sharjah and Ajman, UAE. The platform is an important element in the overall scope of the Zora project, the aim of which is to extract the reserves from the Zora field through an offshore facility and to transport the reserves via a 35km subsea pipeline to an onshore gas processing facility in Sharjah onshore area.

MAN Propulsion Package Powers Two New AHTS

Abu Dhabi-based Adyard has delivered two AHTS vessels equipped with MAN L27/38 propulsion packages. The two Topaz Energy & Marine 67-metre (80-ton bollard pull) vessels are ready for anchor handling tug supply services and the transportation of dry and liquid cargo to and from pipe-laying barges, drilling platforms and production platforms for offshore operations. The Topaz Dignity will operate on behalf of BP, the oil and gas major, on a long-term-contract basis in the Caspian Sea – whilst Topaz Triumph may remain in the Middle East and be operated by Topaz Marine MENA.

MAN Diesel & Turbo’s medium-speed propulsion packages have gained another foothold in Middle Eastern offshore operations. After successfully completed seatrials, Abu Dhabi-based Adyard has earlier delivered the ‘Topaz Dignity’ – which is now followed by the ‘Topaz Triumph’ AHTS. Topaz Energy and Marine, a subsidiary of Oman-based Renaissance Services SAOG and a regional leader in providing offshore support vessels and engineering services, has passed yet another milestone in its 35-year history by building two Anchor Handling Tug Supply vessels.

Topaz Delivers $75M Oil & Gas Project

Topaz Energy and Marine announced the project delivery of the deck structure of a Mobile Offshore Production Unit and storage (MOPUstor). The MOPUstor deck was constructed by Topaz Fabrication and Construction; part of the Topaz Engineering division under a subcontract from Single Buoy Moorings Inc for its client, Talisman Energy Norge AS. The value of Topaz Engineering’s portion of the work was $75m. Topaz’s scope of work was fabrication and construction of the hull and topsides of the MOPU, project completion took more than two years with the workforce peaking at 1,400 men.

Topaz Launches Crew Boat, Kanoo 40

Topaz Energy and Marine Ltd. through its subsidiary Nico Craft has launched a 98.4 ft crew boat named Kanoo 40 for Kanoo Shipping. The crew boat was designed by Teknicraft, New Zealand and all the engineering and construction work was undertaken by Nico Craft in Fujairah. Nico Craft forms a part of Topaz Engineering, the newly formed engineering division of Topaz Energy and Marine. Kanoo 40 is a medium speed catamaran vessel designed to service vessels within a distance of 50 nautical miles from port.

Topaz Completes Milestone of Vopak Project

Topaz Energy and Marine Ltd. through its subsidiary Nico International, part of the newly established Topaz Engineering division has successfully completed the first milestone activity of a project for Vopak Horizon Ltd., Fujairah. The project was awarded to Nico by Interbeton (currently being rebranded as BAM International), Abu Dhabi in November last year for the design, fabrication & installation of offshore trestles and pipes. The project is due for completion in December 2009.

Shipbuilding in a Box?

In June 1998, Kvaerner Masa Marine signed a contract with NICO International of Dubai, U.A.E. to develop a 120 ton anchor handling supply vessel. This project was carried out by KMM's engineering group in Vancouver, Canada and gave KMM further involvement in the challenging and attractive market of "kit build" vessels. The twin screw anchor handling supply vessel Team Salalah has recently been delivered to its owners. The lead vessel of a series of six, it is the first vessel in the NICO fleet, custom designed for operations in both the extremes of the Persian Gulf and worldwide trading. Team Salalah measures 61 x 15.2 x 5.5 m, and is a standard supply vessel layout: 350-sq.-m.

Renaissance Subsidiary Awarded Oil & Gas Contract

Renaissance announced that its Abu Dhabi based oil & gas subsidiary Adyard LLC was recently awarded a $35m contract by Single Buoy Moorings Inc. The contract is for the fabrication of a Mobile Offshore Production Unit for to be located on the YME Field in the Norwegian sector of the North Sea. The contract entails the fabrication and load out of the Hull, Topsides and related works. The process equipment will be fabricated in modules and installed on the hull at the Adyard jetty. Adyard Completes $ 5.5m Atlantis Contract

Adyard L.L.C has completed a contract from Atlantis Holding Norway AS a wholly-owned subsidiary of Chinese giant Sinochem Corporation. The $5.5m deal involved the fabrication, load out and transportation of the jacket and topsides for an off-shore platform, to be used by Atlantis for the development of the Um Al-Quwain gas field in the UAE.
