Adyard Completes $ 5.5m Atlantis Contract

Adyard L.L.C has completed a contract from Atlantis Holding Norway AS a wholly-owned subsidiary of Chinese giant Sinochem Corporation. The $5.5m deal involved the fabrication, load out and transportation of the jacket and topsides for an off-shore platform, to be used by Atlantis for the development of the Um Al-Quwain gas field in the UAE.

Renaissance Subsidiary Awarded Oil & Gas Contract

Renaissance announced that its Abu Dhabi based oil & gas subsidiary Adyard LLC was recently awarded a $35m contract by Single Buoy Moorings Inc. The contract is for the fabrication of a Mobile Offshore Production Unit for to be located on the YME Field in the Norwegian sector of the North Sea. The contract entails the fabrication and load out of the Hull, Topsides and related works. The process equipment will be fabricated in modules and installed on the hull at the Adyard jetty. Dana Gas Inks Adyard Offshore Platform Contract

Middle East’s leading regional private sector natural gas company, Dan Gas, has awarded Adyard Abu Dhabi a subsidiary of Interserve plc, a $17 million contract for the fabrication of an offshore platform for the Zora Field Development Project which spans the territorial waters of Sharjah and Ajman, UAE. The platform is an important element in the overall scope of the Zora project, the aim of which is to extract the reserves from the Zora field through an offshore facility and to transport the reserves via a 35km subsea pipeline to an onshore gas processing facility in Sharjah onshore area.

P&R Water Taxi Signs with MobileOps

MobileOps, Inc. has signed a deal with P&R Water Taxi, LLC, a vessel operator in the Hawaiian Islands. The MobileOps Platform is a cloud-based subscription solution that includes both a Web Application and an offline-capable iPad application called Voyager.

BAE System Wins Ship Repair Navy Contract

BAE Systems Jacksonville Ship Repair LLC, Jacksonville, Florida, is being awarded a $9,613,062 firm-fixed-price contract for dry-dock selected restricted availability repair work onboard USS Philippine Sea (CG 58). The work consists of dry-docking, structural and tank repairs, propulsion system repairs, ventilation and auxiliary system repairs, temporary services, habitability preservations, structural preservations, ship alterations and miscellaneous repairs. This contract includes options which, if exercised, would bring the cumulative value of this contract to $71,892,174. Work will be performed in Jacksonville, Florida, and is expected to be completed by March 2019.

USCG Approves Meridian Global Consulting as TPO

The Towing Vessel National Center of Expertise (TVNCOE) posted on its website February 2, 2018, that the U.S. Coast Guard has approved Meridian Global Consulting, LLC as a third-party organization (TPO) to carry out certain functions in accordance with Subchapter M. The current list of all Subchapter M approved TPOs is maintained on TVNCOE’s TPO webpage. In accordance with 46 CFR 139.110, classification societies that are recognized and/or authorized meet the requirements of a TPO.

Rand Logistics Files for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy

Rand Logistics Inc, one of the largest bulk freight shipping providers in the Great Lakes region, filed for Chapter 11 protection on Tuesday after agreeing to a debt-for-equity swap with lender Lightship Capital LLC. Rand, with $236 million of debt, said in November it would file for bankruptcy as part of a restructuring support agreement with Lightship, an affiliate of New York-based private equity firm American Industrial Partners.

New Fleet Boat for Waterfront Services

Alabama shipbuilder Master Marine said it has delivered the newly built M/V Tom Torretti to Waterfront Services Co. The 67’ x 28’ fleet boat is powered by a pair of Laborde Products, Inc. S6R2-Y3MPTAW Mitsubishi 803 HP tier III diesel marine engines to be operated at 1,400 RPM coupled to Twin Disc MG 5321, 5:1 gears, E300 electronic controls with RW Fernstrum, Inc. keel coolers. Electrical power was also provided by Laborde Products, Inc. with two Northern Lights M65C13.2S 65KW Tier III electronic controlled generators with RW Fernstrum, Inc. keel coolers.

Tidewater Names Rynd President, CEO

Tidewater Inc. (NYSE: TDW) appointed John T. Rynd as the company's new President and CEO and a member of the Board of Directors effective March 5. He replaces Larry T. Rigdon who has served as interim President and Chief Executive Officer since October of 2017. Tom Bates, Chairman of the Board of Directors, said "After completing a comprehensive search, the Board is very pleased to welcome John to the team. He brings with him considerable experience in the offshore drilling services sector and the global oil and gas industry as a whole. Rynd previously served as Chief Executive Officer and President, and as a director of Hercules Offshore from 2008 through 2016.

Shipbuilding in a Box?

In June 1998, Kvaerner Masa Marine signed a contract with NICO International of Dubai, U.A.E. to develop a 120 ton anchor handling supply vessel. This project was carried out by KMM's engineering group in Vancouver, Canada and gave KMM further involvement in the challenging and attractive market of "kit build" vessels. The twin screw anchor handling supply vessel Team Salalah has recently been delivered to its owners. The lead vessel of a series of six, it is the first vessel in the NICO fleet, custom designed for operations in both the extremes of the Persian Gulf and worldwide trading. Team Salalah measures 61 x 15.2 x 5.5 m, and is a standard supply vessel layout: 350-sq.-m.

New CEO Takes the Helm at Intermarine

Project, breakbulk and heavylift cargo transporter Intermarine, LLC said its president and CEO, Al Stanley, has stepped down to pursue other opportunities. Stanley was succeeded by Andre Grikitis, who assumed the role of President & CEO of Intermarine, LLC and Industrial Maritime Carriers, LLC and is responsible for the international flag services. Additionally, Will Terrill has assumed the role of president and CEO of US Ocean, LLC and is responsible for the company’s U.S. Flag services.

Topaz Launches Crew Boat, Kanoo 40

Topaz Energy and Marine Ltd. through its subsidiary Nico Craft has launched a 98.4 ft crew boat named Kanoo 40 for Kanoo Shipping. The crew boat was designed by Teknicraft, New Zealand and all the engineering and construction work was undertaken by Nico Craft in Fujairah. Nico Craft forms a part of Topaz Engineering, the newly formed engineering division of Topaz Energy and Marine. Kanoo 40 is a medium speed catamaran vessel designed to service vessels within a distance of 50 nautical miles from port.

MAN Diesel & Turbo’s medium-speed propulsion packages have gained another foothold in Middle Eastern offshore operations. After successfully completed seatrials, Abu Dhabi-based Adyard has earlier delivered the ‘Topaz Dignity’ – which is now followed by the ‘Topaz Triumph’ AHTS. Topaz Energy and Marine, a subsidiary of Oman-based Renaissance Services SAOG and a regional leader in providing offshore support vessels and engineering services, has passed yet another milestone in its 35-year history by building two Anchor Handling Tug Supply vessels.

Topaz Delivers $75M Oil & Gas Project

Topaz Energy and Marine announced the project delivery of the deck structure of a Mobile Offshore Production Unit and storage (MOPUstor). The MOPUstor deck was constructed by Topaz Fabrication and Construction; part of the Topaz Engineering division under a subcontract from Single Buoy Moorings Inc for its client, Talisman Energy Norge AS. The value of Topaz Engineering’s portion of the work was $75m. Topaz’s scope of work was fabrication and construction of the hull and topsides of the MOPU, project completion took more than two years with the workforce peaking at 1,400 men.

Topaz Completes Milestone of Vopak Project

Topaz Energy and Marine Ltd. through its subsidiary Nico International, part of the newly established Topaz Engineering division has successfully completed the first milestone activity of a project for Vopak Horizon Ltd., Fujairah. The project was awarded to Nico by Interbeton (currently being rebranded as BAM International), Abu Dhabi in November last year for the design, fabrication & installation of offshore trestles and pipes. The project is due for completion in December 2009.

Frasher Takes Head of Helm at American Commercial

Stephen A. Frasher has been appointed president and CEO of American Commercial Barge Line LLC as well as CEO of Jeffboat LLC, Louisiana Dock Company LLC and American Commercial Terminals LLC. With 31 years of experience in the transportation industry, most recently as president and CEO of Tidewater Holdings, Frasher’s hiring is part of a management transition plan for the retirement of Michael C. Hagen, who plans to step down at the end of October.

MAN Propulsion Package Powers Two New AHTS

Abu Dhabi-based Adyard has delivered two AHTS vessels equipped with MAN L27/38 propulsion packages. The two Topaz Energy & Marine 67-metre (80-ton bollard pull) vessels are ready for anchor handling tug supply services and the transportation of dry and liquid cargo to and from pipe-laying barges, drilling platforms and production platforms for offshore operations. The Topaz Dignity will operate on behalf of BP, the oil and gas major, on a long-term-contract basis in the Caspian Sea – whilst Topaz Triumph may remain in the Middle East and be operated by Topaz Marine MENA.

Bollinger Gets Safety Awards from SCA & NSC

Bollinger Shipyards, Inc. has received awards for Excellence in Safety, Improvements in Safety, and Occupational Safety awards from two industry groups. The Award for Excellence in Safety and the Award for Improvement in Safety for 2009 were presented to Bollinger by the Shipbuilders Council of America (SCA). The awards were received during the association’s April 26-28, 2010 general membership meeting held in Washington, D.C. The Award for Excellence in Safety is given to member companies who have an end-of-year Total Recordable Incident Rate (TRIR) that is below the average SCA rate.

Intelsat Proposes Public Offering of Common Shares

Intelsat Global Holdings S.A. announced that it has commenced the distribution of preliminary prospectuses in anticipation of its proposed initial public offering of 21,739,130 common shares and proposed concurrent public offering of 3,000,000 Series A mandatory convertible junior non-voting preferred shares (the "Series A preferred shares"). The offerings are being made pursuant to a registration statement on Form F-1 filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission. On July 29, 2013, The American Equity Underwriters, Inc. (AEU) presented the 2012 Safety Awards at the annual American Longshore Mutual Association (ALMA) Conference in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, where Coach Gene Stallings was the keynote speaker. The awards are given each year to the best performing ALMA members nationwide and are based on the number of accidents and the severity of accidents for the calendar year. The award is an acknowledgement that these companies are leaders in the most important aspect of business operations - protecting employees from injury or death.

Babcock & Brown to Acquire Bluewater Wind

International investment firm Babcock & Brown (ASX: BNB - News), announced it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Bluewater Wind Delaware LLC and its parent holding companies, including Bluewater Offshore Holdings LLC and Bluewater Wind Holdings, LLC, in an effort to expand its portfolio of wind energy projects and contribute to its goal of developing offshore wind. Hunter Armistead, head of Babcock & Brown's North American Energy Development Group added that Bluewater will continue with negotiations with Delmarva Power toward executing a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA), in a process that is being overseen by the Delaware Public Service Commission and three state agencies.
