Drydocks World Completes World’s Largest Turret
Drydocks World the leading provider of maritime and offshore services to the shipping, oil, gas and energy sectors marked a major milestone in successfully completing the world’s largest turret mooring system with His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President, Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and Chairman and Chief Executive, Emirates Airline and Group attending the sail-away and completion ceremony to celebrate the occasion. At almost 100 meters high, weighing over 11,000 tons and with a diameter of 26 meters, the turret will ensure the Prelude floating liquefied natural gas (FLNG) facility can operate safely in the most extreme weather conditions.

HH Sheikh Ahmad bin Saeed Al Maktoum received The Maritime Standard Special “Maritime Visionary Award” in recognition of his exceptional foresight in supporting and revitalizing the UAE’s maritime sector in his role as Chairman of Dubai World. Grandweld Opens New Dubai Shipyard

Drydocks World said that construction has begun on DolWin beta, the world’s largest Wind Power HVDC Offshore Platform for Aibel AS, a leading service company that works within the oil, gas and renewable energy sectors. A steel cutting ceremony was organized to mark the occasion. H.H. Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and Chairman and CEO of Emirates Group was the Guest of Honor at the ceremony, attended by the prominent people from Government and Private sectors.
Dubai Maritime City’s Business District Launched
H.H. Sheikh Ahmed receives Golden Anchor to commemorate Dubai Maritime City’s Business District launch. Commercial development of the City to be completed by 2014.
