Korea Shipyard Delivers Almi Suezmax Tankship

Almi Tankers S.A. has received M/T Almi Navigator following the vessel's delivery at DSME's Okpo Shipyard., South Korea. This 157,787 dwt tanker is the eighth Suezmax of Almi's newbuilding programme and was built by Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Co. Ltd (DSME) to the highest industry standards. The Almi Navigator is an Eco-friendly vessel, designed with the owner's responsibility to safeguard the environment in mind. Almi Tankers recognises the need to consistently and continuously improve performance, especially in environmental issues.

Almi Sky

Almi Sky was built for Almi Tankers S.A. by Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering, designed as double skinned construction in way of cargo tanks and arranged with six pairs of cargo tanks and a pair of slop tanks. The vessel has a continuous upper deck with no forecastle, a raked stem with a bulbous bow, a transom with open water type stern frame, a semi-balanced rudder and a fixed pitch propeller directly driven by slow speed diesel engine. Greek VLCC Ballast Water Treatment Contract Goes to OceanSaver

Greek oil tanker operator, Almi Tankers S.A. has chosen OceanSaver Ballast Water Treatment solutions for its VLCCs currently under construction at Korea’s Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Co. Ltd. The 320,000 dwt vessels will join Almi’s fleet in July 2013 and November 2014 and are designed to exceed high environmental standards, reflecting client demand for clean & green operation. Almi Tankers currently manages two Aframax LR2 vessels and three newly-built Suezmax Crude Oil Carriers and is expecting the delivery of seven more Suezmaxes and two VLCCs by November 2014. Almi confirms the decision to choose OceanSaver follows a thorough evaluation of the company’s Mark I and Mark II BWT technology and competing suppliers.

First VLCC Order with the New G-Type Engine

Greek ship management company Almi Tankers S.A. is set to establish itself as a market front runner with the new ultralong-stroke G-type engine tailor-made for Very Large Crude Carriers. Athens-based ship management company Almi Tankers S.A. will be the first to equip two VLCCs with the very first new 7G80ME-C9.2 engine launched by MAN Diesel & Turbo. The engines will be built by Hyundai Heavy Industries in South Korea with test bed running in January 2013. The vessels will be built at DSME in South Korea, with delivery scheduled for May and December 2013.
