GAC, Forth Join Forces to offer Mooring, Terminal Solutions

GAC UK and Forth Logistics Marine Services (FLMS) have formed a partnership to provide mooring and related terminal services around the UK. Formed on the back of a long term contract in the River Forth with an oil major to be announced later in the year, the pairing combines FLMS’s years of marine experience with GAC’s expertise and reputation for integrity as the leading ship agent in the UK and in the River Forth. According to GAC UK MD Herman Jorgensen, the winning combination will provide “safe, strong operations with unrivalled 24/7 customer focus”. The fleet of six line handling vessels includes two new Alnmaritec Wave Handler vessels currently being built at the company’s Port of Blyth yard. Three more vessels are en route from Qatar a sixth is coming from Australia this autumn.

UK-built Mussel Boat for Offshore Shellfish

U.K. based boat builder Alnmaritec announced it has designed and built a new 15.2-meter aluminum Wave Farmer 1400 mussel farming boat, Alysée, for U.K. shellfish farmer Offshore Shellfish. Developed from Alnmaritec’s Wave Train catamaran hull form, Alysée has been configured and customized to meet the specific needs of Offshore Shellfish, including a number of precise pieces of equipment, the builder said. When commissioning the build project, Offshore Shellfish sought a boat with excellent maneuverability

Alnmaritec announced the recent delivery of a new 50 passenger ferry to the Forth Crossing Bridge Constructors JV who are currently building the Forth Replacement Crossing over the Firth of Forth for the client, the Scottish Government. New Aquaculture Workboat from Alnmaritec

Alnmaritec, the specialist aluminium boat builder based in Northumberland, recently announced the completion of ‘Shelagh Jane’ a new aquaculture workboat for service on a fish farm on the West Coast of Scotland. This rugged no nonsense support boat is a development of the highly successful Alnmaritec Wave Worker class. She is designed specifically to have improved sea keeping properties to allow her to transfer long distances between fish farm sites and she has a unique hull form to fulfil this role.

Alnmaritec’s New ‘Wave Force’

Earlier this year, the Alnmaritec Wave Handler class boat ‘Wave Force’ commenced line handling duties at a bulk carrier terminal near Dampier in Western Australia. This is the second of its line handling vessels that Alnmaritec has supplied to this region. The first has been successfully operating for over a year on an iron ore terminal at Point Lambert. The Wave Force is the first of the new larger Wave Handler class from Alnmaritec. At just over 12m, she is 2m longer than the previous Wave Handler boats and has 1000bhp of installed power.

Alnmaritec Reaches Landmark with Endurance

Alnmaritec, an aluminum boat builder based in Northumberland, launched the 100th vessel built by the company. The company offers boats for a broad range of different roles from line handling and oil spill response to fish farming support and harbor patrol. It exports all over the world from the Antarctic to Africa and started building aluminum boats in the late 1980’s. Endurance was launched in August of this year nearly a century after Shackleton’s original boat and she is built for duties in wind farm maintenance support roles.
