MacGregor to Equip US' Largest Hopper Dredge

MacGregor, part of Cargotec, will deliver two large, 120 ft. double telescopic service cranes and one 50 ft. telescopic stores crane for a self-propelled hopper dredge. Currently being built for Manson Construction Co., the Frederick Paup will be the largest ever self-propelled trailing suction hopper dredge built in the USA and will operate all over the country.The order was placed by Keppel AmFELS, Inc. and booked into Cargotec’s 2020 fourth quarter order intake. The cranes are planned to be delivered to the yard by the end of 2021…

Keppel AmFELS Lays Keel for Manson's New Hopper Dredge

Manson Construction Co. and Keppel AmFELS, Inc. reached another on-time milestone on Monday, Aug. 2, 2021, celebrating with a Keel Laying Ceremony for the hopper dredge Frederick Paup. Keppel AmFELS Delivers Third Rowan Rig

Keppel AmFELS Inc., a wholly-owned US subsidiary of Keppel Offshore & Marine Ltd, has delivered the third of four EXL jackup rigs to a subsidiary of Rowan Companies, Inc. ahead of schedule and within budget. The jackup was christened Rowan EXL-III yesterday by Barbara Ladner, spouse of Laron Ladner, Operations Construction Manager and employee of 41 years for Rowan. The rig is scheduled to depart Keppel AmFELS' yard in Brownsville, Texas in January 2011 to commence operations on an ultra deep gas well for McMoRan Exploration Company in the Gulf of Mexico. David Russell, Rowan's Executive Vice President of Drilling Operations, said, "High-end jackups will have a key role in the future of offshore drilling. Demand for such units is strong.

Keppel Delivers First Rowan Rig

Keppel AmFELS Inc., the US wholly-owned subsidiary of Keppel Offshore & Marine Limited (Keppel O&M), has delivered the first of four EXL rigs to Rowan Drilling Company, Inc. (Rowan) safely, on time and within budget. The rig, christened Rowan EXL I at the yard last Saturday, is expected to be deployed for work immediately after delivery to serve a 10-month contract with McMoRan Exploration Company in the US Gulf of Mexico. Keppel AmFELS is currently constructing three other similar newbuild jackup rigs for Rowan.

Keppel Completes 5 Scorpion Jackups

Keppel AmFELS Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Keppel Offshore & Marine Limited (Keppel O&M) in the US Gulf of Mexico, has delivered the jackup drilling rig, Offshore Intrepid, to Scorpion Intrepid Ltd. a subsidiary of Scorpion Offshore Ltd. (Scorpion) on time. With this delivery, Keppel AmFELS has completed the series of five LeTourneau Super 116 jackup rigs commissioned by Scorpion in 2005 without delay. Offshore Intrepid was named by Mrs. Drucie Cole, spouse of Mr. Jon Cole, Scorpion’s President & CEO, at the Keppel AmFELS yard on 24 January 2009.

Boeing Awards $73M Platform Contract

AMFELS Inc, a member of Keppel Offshore & Marine Ltd (Keppel O&M), has won a $73 million firm-fixed-price contract for the modification of a platform from The Boeing Company. The SBX Platform is a self-propelled semi-submersible modified oil-drilling platform developed for the US Government’s Sea-Based Test X-Band Radar (SBX) in support of its ground-based midcourse missile defense system. The work scope involves outfitting of the bare hull of the platform, construction and assembling of the living quarters, the electrical, networking and mechanical work and the commissioning of the vessel. The vessel is expected to be delivered in the first quarter of 2005.

Keppel FELS Signs Contracts with Diamond Offshore

Keppel FELS Limited (KFELS), the offshore arm of the Keppel Group has secured contracts worth a total of $77 million from Diamond Offshore Drilling Inc for the upgrades of a semi-submersible, Ocean Rover and a jack-up rig, Ocean Tower. This comes after a $34 million contract from Diamond Offshore for the upgrading of four jack-up rigs in July this year. These contracts were secured as a result of KFELS’ services and the outstanding work it is performing on Ocean Baroness, presently in the final stages of an extremely challenging deepwater upgrade in KFELS’ Pioneer Yard in Singapore. Tong Chong Heong, managing director of KFELS said, “We are very pleased that Diamond Offshore has chosen us to be a partner in the enhancement of their fleet of vessels.

AMFELS Wins $83M Deal

Keppel Corp.'s AMFELS Inc unit in Brownsville, Texas, won a $83 million contract to build a new jack-up rig for Mexican company Perforadora Central S.A. de C.V. Due for delivery in the first quarter of 2004, this rig is the fourth MOD V "B" class ordered in two years. The first "B" class, Chiles Discovery has just been delivered in Singapore. Its sister rig Chiles Galileo, being built in AMFELS for the same owner Chiles Offshore Inc is due in September 2002. The third vessel, Atwood Beacon, is currently under construction in Singapore for Atwood Oceanics Pacific Limited and is expected to be delivered in June 2003. AMFELS Lays Keel Ahead of Schedule

AMFELS Inc, the US wholly-owned subsidiary of Singapore’s Keppel Corporation Limited through Keppel Offshore & Marine Ltd, has laid the keel for new jack-up rig, Tonala, one month ahead of schedule. The $83 million contract for the rig was signed in April 2002 with Mexican company, Perforadora Central SA de CV. Tonala is a KFELS MOD V “B” class jack-up, enhanced with Keppel’s proprietary jacking and fixation systems developed by its research and technology arm, Offshore Technology Development. At the keel laying ceremony, Mr Ricardo Cortina Cardenas, Vice President for Marine Drilling Division of Perforadora Central said, “We are very pleased with the progress of the construction of Tonala, which is ahead of schedule.

Rowan Orders 4 More Rigs

Rowan Companies, Inc. entered into contracts with Keppel AmFELS, Inc. for the construction of four Super 116E class jack-ups. The rigs will be built at AmFELS' Brownsville, Texas shipyard, with delivery scheduled at approximately four-month intervals beginning in the second quarter of 2010. Rowan's total cost of each rig is expected to average approximately $175 million, with more than one-third of that amount attributable to the cost value of the design, kit components and drilling equipment to be provided by the Company's manufacturing businesses. Rowan will also build two additional 240-C class jack-ups at its own Vicksburg, Mississippi shipyard for delivery in the third quarters of 2010 and 2011, at a total cost of approximately $400 million.

Keppel Clinches $190m Rig Order

Keppel AmFELS Inc. has secured a contract from Mexican company Perforadora Central SA de CV to build a jackup rig valued at approximately $190m. The jackup drilling rig is due for delivery in end-2009, and is expected to be deployed in the Gulf of Mexico. This is the second rig that Keppel AmFELS is building for Perforadora Central. The first unit was delivered in 2004 and is working for PEMEX, Mexico’s national oil company. In late 2006, Keppel AmFELS completed the onshore construction of two 220-crew accommodation platforms, HA-KU-M and HA-KU-S, for PEMEX. The contract is not expected to have material impact on the net tangible assets and earnings per share of Keppel Corporation for the financial year 2007.

Keppel Secures Contracts

Keppel Singmarine Pte Ltd (Keppel Singmarine), a wholly owned subsidiary of Keppel Offshore & Marine Limited (Keppel O&M), has secured a repeat contract from Greatship Global Offshore Services Pte Ltd (Greatship) to build two platform supply vessels (PSVs). Deliveries for these two PSVs will be between end 2009 and the first quarter of 2010. The vessels are similar to the two PSVs ordered by Greatship, a Singapore registered company headquartered in India, two weeks ago. At 308 ft. in length, each vessel is to be equipped with electric propulsion system powered by 8160kw (total) generators, a dynamically positioned system (ll) provided by 2 x 2600kw steerable thrusters and 2 x 1050kw tunnel thrusters.

Keppel AmFELS to Deliver Scorpion Jackup

Keppel AmFELS Inc., the U.S. subsidiary of Keppel Offshore & Marine Limited (Keppel O&M), is on course to a timely delivery of Scorpion Offshore Ltd.’s first jackup drilling rig at the end of May 2007. The ultra premium drilling rig, Offshore Courageous, is the first of five jackups that Keppel AmFELS is constructing for Scorpion Offshore. Keppel AmFELS on Course for Delivery of Jackup Rig

Keppel AmFELS Inc., is expected to deliver the first of its five jackup rigs on time and within budget for Scorpion Offshore Ltd. Keppel AmFELS launched the premium rig Offshore Courageous on November 4, 2006, which marked the completion of the hull works, a major milestone in its construction of the jackup. Ho Cheok Yuen, President and CEO of Keppel AmFELS, said, “We are committed to our delivery schedule for Offshore Courageous, and I am pleased that we are progressing as planned for our first rig for Scorpion Offshore. Diamond Offshore Awards $34M In Rig Contract

Keppel FELS Energy & Infrastructure won contracts worth a total of $34 million from subsidiaries of Diamond Offshore Drilling Inc. Keppel Offshore & Marine Awarded Contracts Worth $55M

Business units of Keppel Offshore & Marine Ltd have secured $55 million worth of contracts. Keppel Singmarine, the specialized shipbuilding division, will build three 60 tonne bollard pull Anchor Handling Tug/ Supply (AHTS) vessels, one for Hadi H. Al-Hammam Establishment (Hadi) from Saudi Arabia while the remaining two for Pacific Richfield Marine Pte Ltd (PRM), a Singapore-based customer. These vessels will be completed in the first quarter of 2004. Keppel Singmarine has delivered two AHTS vessels to Hadi in the last two years, and is currently building a 140-tonne bollard pull purpose-built AHTS vessel for PRM. This vessel is due for delivery in the last quarter of 2003.

Keppel Offshore and Marine Units Win Contracts

Keppel Corporation Limited, through its offshore and marine units in Keppel Offshore & Marine Ltd (Keppel O&M), has clinched contracts worth a total of $41 million from repeat customers. Three contracts over $28 million are for the upgrades of jack-up rig Ensco 81 and barge drilling unit Ensco 1 from Ensco Offshore Company (ENSCO), and swamp barge Maera from PT Apexindo Pratama Duta, an Indonesian drilling contractor. Another contract is for a new Anchor Handling Tug/Supply (AHTS) vessel for Pacific Richfield Marine Pte Ltd, owner and operator of offshore support vessels in the Asia and Pacific region. Keppel Signs LOI for Atwood Jackup Rig

Keppel AmFELS Inc. signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) with a wholly-owned subsidiary of Atwood Oceanic Inc. (Atwood) for the construction of a new jackup rig, due for delivery in third quarter 2008. Keppel Atwood Contract Takes Effect

Keppel AmFELS Inc. is pleased to announce that its contract with a wholly-owned subsidiary of Atwood Oceanics Inc. (Atwood) for the construction of a new jackup rig is now effective. This contract follows the Letter of Intent signed between the two companies announced on 7 February 2006.
