Damen Shipyards Group has appointed Andrea Trevisan as its new Sales Director Cruise New Building, as the company plans to further expand its standing in the flourishung expedition and small size cruise vessels market. Another Tug for Rimorchiatori Riuniti

Rimorchiatori Riuniti has taken delivery of a Damen ASD 2913. The new vessel – named Germania – was handed over to the Italian tug operator last week from Damen Shipyards Galati in Romania. The delivery follows Rimorchiatori Riuniti’s order for a second, identical vessel; the contract for which was also finalized at the end of December. Rimorchiatori Augusta Acquires Damen ASD Tug 2810

Damen Shipyards Group recently delivered an ASD Tug 2810 to Rimorchiatori Augusta. The vessel, named Capo Boeo, is operating in the Sicilian Port of Augusta. Rimorchiatori Augusta is a new venture for the Rimorchiatori Riuniti Group and this is the first new vessel for the company, demonstrating its commitment to future operations in the port. Capo Boeo arrived in Sicily on 2 December having sailed on her own keel from Damen Song Cam Shipyard in Vietnam. The client selected Damen due to requiring a fast delivery time for their vessel. Damen’s Vietnam yard is able to guarantee that thanks to its serial production. The state-of-the-art shipyard fulfils the Damen philosophy of series production, producing 40 standard Damen tugs per year up to 60 metres in length.

Damen Workboats for Fratelli Neri Fleet Expansion

Italian towing company Fratelli Neri S.p.A. has expanded its fleet with the delivery of three new Damen workboats. The trio of vessels will be based in the company’s home port of Livorno, on the Tuscan coast. Damen delivered all the vessels from stock;completing the final outfitting works within a timescale of three and a half months. This current delivery to Fratelli Neri consists of three different vessels. The first, an ASD 2913, was built at Damen Shipyards Galati. This vessel sailed from Romania to Italy on her own keel. The other two vessels – a Stan Launch 1305 and a Stan Tug 1606 – were being held on stock at Damen Shipyards Gorinchem in the Netherlands. Damen transported these two workboats to Livorno on a heavy-lift vessel.

First Damen Tug for Fratelli Neri

Fratelli Neri S.p.A has taken delivery of a Damen ASD Tug 3212. The new vessel, called Luisa Neri, was handed over from Damen Maaskant Shipyards Stellendam in the Netherlands, on 25 January 2016. The vessel represents two firsts: it is Fratelli Neri’s first Damen newbuild tug and it is the first ASD Tug in the Mediterranean with a Damen render-recovery winch. Damen is renowned for its quick delivery times and this contract further reinforces that fact: the smooth process from contract to delivery taking just 5 months. With the vessel built for stock, Damen Maaskant Shipyards Stellendam carried out the final outfitting works to bring the Luisa Neri up to client specifications.

Corima Acquires Damen ASD 2810 Tug

On 20 January 2016, Corima, part of the Italy-based Gesmar Group, held an official handover ceremony for a Damen ASD 2810 tug. The festivities were attended by invited guests that included representatives from Ancona’s port and city authorities. The family-owned Gesmar Group is the largest towage operator in the Adriatic Sea. The Group’s scope of activities reach to providing harbour assistance duties at eight Italian ports in addition to towing, escorting and offshore towage, safety and FiFi duties at a several offshore oil terminals. Fratelli Neri Orders Damen Tug

One of the largest Italian tug owners, Fratelli Neri S.p.A, ordered its first Damen tug, an ASD 3212, on 21 July 2015. The vessel will be the first ASD tug in the Mediterranean region with a Damen Render Recovery Escort winch. The family-owned, Livorno-based harbour towage company has been in operation for over 100 years. Besides this new tug, the company has ordered two additional second-hand Stan tugs 2608 from Damen Trading. “Damen’s well-known high quality construction and reliability, as well as fast delivery times, were the main reasons behind our decision to place this order. We are proud to add this Damen ASD 3212 tug to our fleet and quite confident that our Masters will enjoy using it.

Damen Stan Pontoon 9127 for Ocean Koper

Ocean Koperd.o.o, a member of the Ocean Team headquartered in Trieste, Italy, will strengthen its fleet with the addition of a Damen Stan Pontoon 9127. The contract, signed on June 24, is for the largest pontoon in the region, and certainly in the Adriatic Sea, the builder noted. This will be the second barge purchased by Ocean Koper from Damen. The towage company that provides offshore support services was established in 2005 and acquired the P9 barge, a Damen Stan Pontoon 7524, in 2010. Ocean Koper’s current fleet consists of two Anchor Handling Tugs, two tugs that are regularly involved in short-sea-towage-operations and two cargo barges. There were a number of reasons why Ocean Koper decided to return to Damen, with a specific benefit being on stock availability.

Promar Christens First of Two Damen PSVs

Promar Shipping Services has christened the first of two Damen PSV 3300 vessels built at Damen Shipyards Galaţi in Romania. The Mamola Reliance will operate on the West African oil and gas market. Following the official handover on February 23, the Mamola Reliance set sail for West Africa. En route she stopped off in Barcelona for her naming ceremony. The ceremony was attended by Promar’s CEO, Bertrand Prezioso, CFO, Olivier Utz and COO, Christophe Mansuy. Damen Sales Manager Andrea Trevisan also attended the ceremony.

CORIMA Orders a Damen ASD Tug 2810

CORIMA, part of the Italian Gesmar Group, has ordered a Damen ASD Tug 2810. The Damen ASD Tug 2810, which has a 60 metric tons bollard pull, will be deployed in the port of Ancona. With the official signing ceremony taking place on January 12, the new tug is due to be delivered at the end of the year. Damen Delivers ASD Tug in Italy

RimorchiatoriRiunitiS.p.A. of Genoa (Italy) has taken delivery of a Damen ASD Tug 2411. The 70-metric-ton bollard pull azimuth stern drive tug will be temporarily deployed by Tug Malta Ltd., a full subsidiary of the Genovese towage company. Named Malta, the tug was officially delivered to Gregorio Gavarone, Managing Director of RimorchiatoriRiuniti. The transfer took place in Malta. Initially flying the Maltese flag, the 24.5-meter ASD 2411 will temporarily be prospecting for work in the Mediterranean under the auspices of Tug Malta. Damen Launches First PSV 3300 for PROMAR

Offshore ship manager PROMAR recently marked a milestone with the sideways launch into the Danube of the first of its two Damen PSV 3300s on order. On delivery in February 2015, the Swiss company believes the 80-metre Mamola Reliance will give them a valuable competitive edge in the West African oil and gas market. On September 4, Damen Shipyards Galati launched the PSV 3300 Mamola Reliance at an official ceremony at the yard in Romania. Damen platform supply vessels have become a familiar sight on the Danube since Damen introduced its range of high specification designs up to 6,300 dwt.

Scafi Expands Fleet with Italian Damen Tug

Damen is to construct a new ASD 3212 tug for Scafi, the Italian shipping group that includes a number of international towing companies. The contract cements their already strong business relationship that goes back 20 years and represents the first Damen ASD 3212 for Italian waters. This is the 15th contract between Scafi and Damen. “We are delighted to work again with a respectable Italian owner such as Scafi,” commented Damen Sales Director North West and South Europe Frank de Lange.

Leading Italian tug operator RimorchiatoriRiuniti has ordered a Damen ASD Tug 2411.Reflecting the industry’s move to larger vessels, the new Damen tug, which has a 70-metric-ton bollard pull, will replace a smaller 40-metric-ton unit built in 1990.
