ZF Appoints New Board Members

ZF Friedrichshafen AG's Supervisory Board has appointed Sabine Jaskula and Dr. Holger Klein to the company's Board of Management.Jaskula, an experienced HR manager and lawyer, will be responsible for Corporate HR and Legal functions from latest January 1, 2019. IBIA Celebrates 23th Annual Dinner

The International Bunker Industry Association (IBIA) has appointed three new members to its Management Board and one new member to the IBIA in Africa Board. The appointments were announced at the Association’s 23th annual dinner, which was held on February 8 at the Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane, London. Heralding the beginning of International Petroleum week, the prestigious event attracted a record number of attendees, with over 1100 bunker industry professionals at the dinner, despite the gloomy state of the industry.

Port of Antwerp Appoints New Brazilian Representative

Henrique Machado Rabelo, who has for some time already been responsible for commercial and institutional contacts and will now be focusing on the latter, was recently joined by Ricardo Sproesser, who will manage and develop the commercial contacts. Sproesser has over 20 years’ experience in the maritime and logistics sector, and is without any doubt an asset to the Brazilian team. “Brazil is a key trading partner of our port community. In terms of share in the annual maritime traffic destined for Antwerp, Brazil ranks sixth,” says Luc Arnouts, commercial director of the Antwerp Port Authority.

Over the last few years, Strategic Marine has established and rapidly developed production capability in the sectors of marine infrastructure, modular fabrication and engineering. Aker Philadelphia Appoints New CFO

Aker Philadelphia Shipyard ASA has appointed Jan Ivar Nielsen as Chief Financial Officer effective September 2015. Since 2009, Nielsen has held the position of CFO of VARD Holdings, a publicly listed global designer and builder of offshore and specialized vessels with 10 facilities across Europe, Asia and South America. From the period 2002 to 2005, Nielsen was CFO of the shipyard in Philadelphia. In 2005, Nielsen was involved in the formation of Aker American Shipping Company, the former parent of both Aker Philadelphia Shipyard and American Shipping Company.

NOL Appoints New CEO, CFO

Amid a takeover by France’s CMA CGM, Singapore container shipper Neptune Orient Lines (NOL) has named a new chief executive officer and chief financial officer. Nicolas Sartini will take over as chief executive officer, succeeding Ng Yat Chung, who has served as NOL president and CEO since 2011. New chief financial officer Serge Corbel will join Sartini as executive directors of the newly constituted 10-member NOL board. Ng will continue as executive director on the NOL board and will be a special adviser to the new chairman, Rodolphe Saadé, who is also the vice chairman of CMA CGM.

Nordic American Appoints New CFO

Nordic American Tankers (NAT) and Nordic American Offshore (NAO) has appointed Bjørn Giaever (50) as Chief Financial Officer (CFO). He is expected to join us later this year and as early as possible. Giaever joins NAT/NAO from the well reputed firm of Fearnley Securities AS with main office in Oslo, Norway. This is an investment bank with special focus on the maritime sectors, where he served as a director and partner in the Corporate Finance division. Giaever has more than 20 years of experience in the shipping industry, holding key roles in corporate finance and equity research.

United Arab Shipping Company (UASC) announced the appointment of Dr. Nabeel Al-Amudi as the new Chairman of the Company’s Board of Directors, and Sheikh Ali bin Jassim bin Mohammad Al-Thani, as Vice-Chairman. Dr. Al Amudi, Al-Thani and the rest of the board will be responsible for driving the company’s global expansion plans and spearheading the company’s efforts to cement UASC’s positions as the market leader in the Middle East and as an emerging global carrier. OSK-ShipTech Appoints New CEO

Jacob H. Thygesen has been named the new CEO of Danish naval architecture firm OSK-ShipTech A/S, effective November 1, 2016. Thygesen comes to the role with a background as Sales Director of Wärtsilä Ship Design, and prior to that he was Managing Director of Wärtsilä Denmark. As CEO of OSK-ShipTech A/S, he will be responsible for continuing the direction the company has taken since Anders Ørgård became majority shareholder 13 years ago. Ørgård will continue to play a vital role in OSK, focusing primarily on the company's commercial activities.

CMA CGM, a leading worldwide shipping Group, announces the appointment of Michel Delville as Chief Financial Officer. Michel Sirat will continue to support the Group on strategic development missions. Michel Delville was Chief Financial Officer of the Saft Group, the world’s leader in high technology batteries. Prior to this, he was Chief Financial Officer and member of the Executive Committee at Imerys, the world leader in mineral-based specialties for industry, which he joined in 1999.

Chinese Shipbuilding Giant CSSC Appoints New Chairman

China State Shipbuilding Corp (CSSC) said on Monday Lei Fanpei would become the Chinese state shipbuilder's new chairman, replacing the incumbent Dong Qiang. Lei will relinquish his duties as the chairman at the China Aerospace Science and Technology Corp, the country's space agency, CSSC said in a statement on its website. It did not say where Dong would move to. CSSC is one of China's two largest shipbuilding conglomerates, alongside its rival China Shipbuilding Industry Corp.

Globus Maritime Limited, a dry bulk shipping company, announced today that Dimitrios Stratikopoulos has resigned from its Board of Directors due to other recent pressing business commitments with the resignation taking effect immediately. The Board of Directors has appointed Ioannis Kazantzidis to the Board to replace  Stratikopoulos as an independent Class I, non-executive director effective today. Additionally and on the same day, Kazantzidis has been also appointed to the Company's Audit, Remuneration and Nomination Committees.
