Stevens Appoints New President

The Board of Directors of Stevens Towing Co., Inc., elected W. Johnson Stevens, III, to serve as the new president of the company, succeeding his father, William J. “Bill” Stevens, Jr. Bill will serve as chairman of the board and as chief executive officer. The new posts reflect a planned leadership transition for the younger Stevens, son of the former president, to become the fourth generation of the Stevens family to head Stevens Towing. Johnson joined the company in 2007 and has served in a broad range of operations and management positions there over the years.

At the annual shareholders meeting of Carnival Corporation & plc  held in Miami Beach, Fla., shareholders elected a new member to the company's board of directors – Debra Kelly-Ennis, president and chief executive officer of Diageo Canada, Inc. Kelly-Ennis will serve in a non-executive capacity on Carnival Corporation & plc's 14-member board, effective immediately. Carnival Corporation & plc's board of directors also approved a quarterly dividend to holders of Carnival Corporation common stock and Carnival plc ordinary shares of $0.25 per share.

KPI Bridge Oil Appoints New Bunker Broker & Trader

KPI Bridge Oil appointed Nick Fuca as Bunker Broker and Trader in its New York office. Fuca has been part of the bunker industry for 27. He started out in 1984 when he joined Sumitomo Corp of America. In 1989 he joined Asamar, Inc/Fratelli Cosulich where he spent the next 22 years of his career.   

Lawrence Graham Appoints New Partner

London-based law firm Lawrence Graham has appointed Charles Baker, an experienced maritime and trade lawyer, as a new partner. Baker, who has more than 25 years experience in maritime law, had previously been with Herbert Smith where he set up the Paris office of Holman Fenwick & Willan.

Soundcoat Appoints New Controller

The Soundcoat Company Inc., a manufacturer of passive noise and vibration control products for OEM markets, announced that Elizabeth Orlando has been appointed as financial controller. Formerly of Deloitte and Touche, Orlando is a Certified Public Accountant and brings accounting and management experience. She will oversee the daily financial operations for Soundcoat’s New York and California facilities.

Bunker Holding Appoints New COO

Søren Høll

Bunker Holding, the parent company of a group of bunker companies worldwide, has appointed Søren Høll as the company’s new Chief Operations Officer (COO). Søren will be situated at the company’s headquarters in Middelfart, Denmark, but will have frequent and extensive travel to the subsidiaries around the world. Søren Høll brings experience from the bunker business through his 28 year with Dan-Bunkering, a subsidiary of Bunker Holding. Rickmers-Linie Appoints New Agent Greenport

Rickmers-Linie GmbH & Cie. KG has appointed Greenport Shipping Agency LLC, Dubai as its new agent in the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain effective October 1, 2009. Point of entry for communication with Bahrain will be the office of Greenport in Dubai. Rickmers-Linie and GAC, the previous agent in these locations, have mutually agreed to terminate the existing agency agreements.

Shipping Corp appoints New Director of Bulk Carriers, Tankers

Capt. Sunil Thapar has been appointed as Director of Bulk Carriers and Tankers as of January 2011. He is a holder of Master (Foreign Going) Certificate of Competency issued by Ministry of Shipping and MSc (Shipping Management) from the World Maritime University, Malmo Sweden. WESMAR Appoints New Dealer in Central America

Wesmar has appointed Ocean Works of Quepos, Costa Rica, as its authorized dealer covering Central America from Belize to Panama. Ocean Works will be a stocking dealer with complete parts and systems for Wesmar’s line of bow thrusters, roll fin stabilizers, and sport fishing sonars. The owner of Ocean Works is Fred Hogan, formerly a WESMAR Sales Manager for the U.S. Gulf, Mid Atlantic, and Great Lakes regions.

OSG Appoints New VP of Corporate Finance

Overseas Shipholding Group, Inc. announced that Henry Flinter was appointed Vice President, Corporate Finance of OSG Ship Management, Inc., a newly created position reporting to Myles Itkin, Chief Financial Officer. Flinter will have oversight of treasury, corporate finance and capital market transactions and has nearly 20 years' experience in senior finance and accounting positions. He joined OSG in 2002 as Assistant Vice President, Accounting and in January 2005 was promoted to Vice President, Accounting.

IBIA Appoints New Directors

Nigel Draffin becomes IBIA Chairman on 1 April.

Following an election, the International Bunker Industry Association (IBIA) has appointed Robin Meech (Marine and Energy Consulting) and Ciric Cheung (Fratelli Cosulich Bunkers HK) to its board from 1 April 2012. They replace previous IBIA chairman Mike Ball (Gearbulk UK) and Mustafa Muhtaroglu (Energy Petrol) who have served seven and nine year terms of office respectively. Trevor Harrison was re-elected to serve another term.   The announcement was made at the IBIA Annual Dinner in London by Vice Chairman Nigel Draffin who, as previously announced, becomes Chairman on 1 April.

Keppel Philippines Appoints New Execs.

Keppel Corporation Ltd.'s Group Finance Director, Teo Soon Hoe has been appointed Chairman of Keppel Philippines Holdings, Inc (KPH), following the retirement of Loh Wing Siew. Charles Foo, who currently serves as the managing director of Keppel Hitachi Zosen, will assume Loh's post as Chairman of Keppel Philippines Marine, Inc (KPMI) and Subic Shipyard and Engineering Inc (SSEI). Kevin Wong, who is the executive director and managing director of Keppel Land Limited (Keppel Land) in Singapore, will take over as chairman of Keppel Philippines Properties Inc (KPPI).

KPI Bridge Oil Appoints New CEO

KPI Bridge Oil, a global broker and trader in marine bunkers, marine lubricants and risk management products, has appointed Carsten Ladekjær as Chief Executive Officer for the group.   Ladekjær is an industry veteran with 20 years in the bunker business. He joins the KPI Bridge Oil Group from previous positions as Senior Vice President and CEO of leading global bunker companies. Carsten took over the position as CEO as of August 1 and will primarily be based at KPI Bridge Oil’s office in London

Hatteland Appoints New Dubai Service Partner

Hatteland Display, an international supplier of marine displays and computers has appointed the marine electronics company Elcome International LLC in Dubai as the latest member of its worldwide service partner network.   Elcome International L.L.C has been in business for nearly four decades. New CEO for Aker Yards

Torstein Dale Sjøtveit has been appointed new president and CEO for Aker Yards ASA. Sjøtveit comes from the global industrial company Norsk Hydro, and brings a strong international top management experience. He will start in his new position with Aker Yards at the latest 1 September 2008.In March 2008, Aker Yards announced the start of a recruitment process for a new CEO. In the intermediate period, the chairman of the board of directors, Svein Sivertsen, has acted as CEO.

New Sales Manager in Ulstein Verft

  Trond Skodjevåg Bø was appointed new Sales Manager in Ulstein Verft on 14 January 2015. He comes from a position as Project Manager Sales in Ulstein Verft. Trond S. Bø has been employed in Ulstein Verft since November 2012.  

Savisaari New MD of ATLAS ELEKTRONIK Finland

Jaakko Savisaari (56) was appointed new Managing Director of ATLAS ELEKTRONIK Finland Oy, a subsidiary of ATLAS ELEKTRONIK, a leading supplier of naval electronics. In previous positions, Savisaari has been an officer in the Finnish Navy, most recently as a military attaché in the USA. He succeeds Sami Sohlberg, who has joined CASSIDIAN in Finland.  

LR Appoints New Commercial Director

Gael Lewis was elected commercial director at Lloyd's Register (LR), effective February 14. In this newly created position, Lewis, who joined LR as manager, special projects this past December, will work with LR's business and regional directors to establish a global pricing policy for the LR Group. He will also be responsible for helping to implement new internal approval procedures and contract bids.

Huntington Ingalls Industries appoint new Vice President in Shipbuilding Division HII announce the promotion of Lori Harper to vice president of supply chain management for the company's Ingalls Shipbuilding division. In this capacity, Harper will be responsible for all Gulf Coast supply chain management functions, including sourcing and procurement, inventory control and material operations in support of all Ingalls contracts.
