NME Appoints New Managing Director

The Association of Norwegian Maritime Exporters (NME) announced the appointment of a new managing director, Ole Henæs, who began in the position 3 August. Henæs takes over the leadership of the member-based organisation from Halvard Olafsen, who has led NME for over a decade and who now moves into a new role as Chief Project Officer. Henæs was selected as NME’s new managing director by the NME board after a rigorous selection process reviewed a number of highly qualified applicants. Henæs’ prior experience on the board of NME and with NME member companies Rapp Marine and Kongsberg Maritime, and his strength as a manager and organiser with a technical background, were cited as reasons for his selection.
