Ozegowski New CEO at Atlas Elektronik

Michael Ozegowski,52, has been appointed the new Speaker of the Management Board and Chief Executive Officer of Atlas Elektronik GmbH with effect of May 1st, 2018. He succeeds Dr. Jens Bodo Koch who is to become CEO of Heckler & Koch Group. Ozegowski started his professional career in 1999. In the following 19 years, Ozegowski held various senior management positions, e.g. as Head of Product Management for submarine sonars and systems or as Head of Central Procurement. Since 2013, he has been the Executive Director of the business field Submarine Systems.

Management Shuffle at Atlas Elektronik

Dr. Rolf Wirtz will become Chief Executive Officer of the naval electronics systems provider Atlas Elektronik GmbH, with effect from January 1, 2016. He will succeed Volker Paltzo who will leave the company on December 31, 2015 and take on a new role as Chief Executive Officer of Eurofighter Jagdflugzeug GmbH in Hallbergmoos, Bavaria. In his previous assignment, Rolf Wirtz was Senior Vice President and acted as Head of the business unit “Sensors, Electronic Warfare & Avionics” unit of Airbus Defence and Space and also Head of the Development and Production unit within the Electronics business line. Over and above this, he directed the Ulm location of Airbus. The Management Board will be extended by one more member. This new position will be taken over by Dr.

New Thai Navy Frigate to Include Atlas Elektronik Sonar

Atlas Elektronik GmbH has been commissioned by the Korean yard Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME) with the supply and integration of a bow sonar (ASO) as well as a low-frequency active towed array sonar (ACTAS) for a new frigate of the Royal Thai Navy. Delivery of the systems is planned to take place early in 2016. Together, the two systems offer active and passive sonars for the detection, tracking and classification of underwater vehicles, such as submarines, torpedoes and unmanned underwater vehicles (UUV).

ATLAS North America SeaFox

The SeaFox mine neutralization system, delivered by ATLAS North America (ATLAS NA), a subsidiary of the German-based ATLAS ELEKTRONIK GmbH, once again proved its effectiveness in performing unmanned mine countermeasure missions, when participating in Trident Warrior 2012 U.S. Navy Fleet Experiment, July 9-20. During the Fleet Experiment, Textron/AAI used its Fleet Class Common Unmanned Surface Vessel (CUSV) with a L-3 Klein 5000 V2 Side Scan Sonar to investigate a suspected minefield.
