Fincantieri Offshore Chooses AVEVA Software

Fincantieri Offshore is using AVEVA Marine software in the concept design phase of Proxima.

One of the world’s largest shipbuilders uses AVEVA software to design next-generation drillship. Fincantieri Offshore has signed a contract with AVEVA to implement AVEVA Marine software in the concept design phase of Proxima, a major offshore drillship project. Proxima is a revolutionary design with an innovative drilling system that significantly increases the speed of the drilling process. It can therefore be a powerful tool for drilling contractors to boost their profitability, not only by drilling more efficiently, but also by drilling wells that were not previously possible.

AVEVA Marine Solutions Serve Thailand, India

AVEVA Group plc (LSE: AVV), provider of engineering design and information management solutions to the plant, power and marine industries, announced that Thai-based The Bangkok Dock Company (1957) Limited, and Indian- based SKA Marine Services Pvt Ltd. have concluded contracts for the use of AVEVA Marine solutions within their respective yards.

Japanese Shipbuilders Sign Aveva Contracts

Aveva (LSE:AVV), supplier of engineering IT systems for the plant and marine industries, announced that several Japanese shipbuilders -- Namura Shipbuilding, Universal Shipbuilding Corporation, Shin Kurushima Dockyard, Sumitomo Heavy Industries Marine & Engineering and Imabari Shipbuilding Group -- have signed contracts worth over $2.5m to extend their use of Aveva marine solutions. The contracts were made in the first half of Aveva’s financial year ending 30 September 2008. Aveva marine solutions were first used in Japan by Kawasaki Shipbuilding Corporation in 1994. Kawasaki has since expanded the use of Aveva marine solutions to its commercial and naval yards. To date, there are more than twenty Japanese customers who actively subscribe to Aveva’s shipbuilding solutions.

New Century Shipbuilding Acquires AVEVA Solution

AVEVA, a supplier of engineering IT solutions for the process, power, and marine industries, signed a contract to provide its design and production solutions to New Century Shipbuilding (NCS). The contract means that two of the fastest-developing, non state-owned, local shipbuilding forces in China have now signed up to and are benefitting from AVEVA’s marine solutions. NCS, located southeast of Jingjiang, will utilise AVEVA’s software to enhance its shipbuilding capabilities on its latest project – the design and manufacture of a 4250TEU Container Ship prototype, for which delivery is expected in 2007.
