Established in 1825, Chantier Davie Shipyard is Canada’s oldest, and still today one of its most innovative, shipyards. AVEVA Expands Services for Owner Operators

AVEVA announced that it is opening a new Center of Excellence for Operations Integrity Management Solutions for Owner Operators (OOs) in the oil and gas, process plant and power industries. The new facility, based in Stavanger, offers global OOs and Duty Holder EPCs software solutions to create and maintain their Digital Assets. The Digital Asset approach is helping these customers to manage complex facilities to save on cost while delivering a safer and more efficient operating asset.

Latin Americas Largest Petrochemical Firm chooses AVEVA Software

Braskem, Latin America’s largest petrochemical company, has signed a contract with AVEVA to convert the engineering and design data of 12 of its plants to AVEVA PDMS™ during 2014. This large contract is the result of a successful pilot project executed earlier this year. Braskem chose AVEVA over several other software vendors, attributing their decision to the confidence they had built up in AVEVA’s technology and personnel during the pilot project. ‘These petrochemical plants were originally designed with software from another company,’ explained Luis Henrique Barreto, Coordinator of Engineering Systems and Documents, Braskem. ‘AVEVA PDMS offers us reliable continuity and the integrity of the original models.

KBR Extends Contract with AVEVA

AVEVA today announced that KBR, a global engineering, construction and services company, has substantially extended its utilization of AVEVA technology, which includes the selection of AVEVA Everything3D (AVEVA E3D). The new contract enables KBR to deploy AVEVA E3D along with an increased number of AVEVA solutions on major capital projects around the world. “We have a long standing relationship with AVEVA and we expect that AVEVA E3D will give us additional capabilities and flexibility to meet the needs of our customers,” said Farhan Mujib, Executive Vice President, KBR Operations.

Fincantieri Offshore Chooses AVEVA Software

Fincantieri Offshore is using AVEVA Marine software in the concept design phase of Proxima.

Fincantieri Offshore has signed a contract with AVEVA to implement AVEVA Marine software in the concept design phase of Proxima, a major offshore drillship project. Proxima is a revolutionary design with an innovative drilling system that significantly increases the speed of the drilling process. It can therefore be a powerful tool for drilling contractors to boost their profitability, not only by drilling more efficiently, but also by drilling wells that were not previously possible.

Aveva: Navies Can Reduce Project Cost, Risk and Timescales

Aveva today announced its publication of a new business paper, “Taking Command: How Aveva technology can increase capabilities in naval fleet management.” In this paper, Aveva examines six ways that navies can exploit technologies used in other sectors, such as the offshore industry, to work more closely and effectively with the shipbuilders with whom they partner. The objective is to avoid many of the unnecessary difficulties that can often be encountered in what are already challenging engineering projects.

AVEVA: Major Deal Signed with Ingalls Shipbuilding

AVEVA signed a major contract extension with Huntington Ingalls Industries (NYSE: HII) for AVEVA MARS, an Enterprise Resource Management (ERM) software solution from the  AVEVA Enterprise portfolio. Implemented at Ingalls Shipbuilding, a division of HII, this new contract will incorporate additional maintenance, services, consultancy, and development to further enhance and tailor the AVEVA MARS system to Ingalls’ business processes. Supplying U.S. Naval and Coast Guard vessels, Ingalls has been an important customer of AVEVA MARS since 2006. AVEVA MARS, with modules for Material, Planning and Production designed specifically for the shipbuilding industry, has enabled Ingalls to streamline and improve shipyard and waterfront operations from initial proposals through to commissioning.

AVEVA: Two New Contracts in Russia

AVEVA (LSE:AVV), has won two contracts in Russia with SevZap NTC, a leading Russian EPC in the power industry and DO “Vympel”, a Marine design office based in Nizhny Novgorod.SevZap NTC has signed a license agreement to implement AVEVA Plant solutions. AVEVA technology will enable SevZap concurrent multi-location engineering for work on large scale capital plant projects. The development of its own engineering approach based on AVEVA Plant portfolio will allow improved design quality and efficiency throughout the lifecycle of its projects.

Lionbridge Selected to Create Offshore Development Center

Lionbridge Technologies, Inc. announced that AVEVA has selected Lionbridge for a comprehensive offshore development program. With the agreement, Lionbridge will manage a team of developers, located in the Lionbridge Chennai solution center, that will provide application support and development services for AVEVA’s Vantage Plant Design, Vantage Plant Engineering, Vantage Enterprise Net and Vantage Project Resource Management product groups. At current estimates, AVEVA customers plan to build forty-four offshore developments, thirteen refineries, twenty-seven LNG plants and eleven petrochemical plants over the next 10 years. In addition, around one third of all new ships are designed using AVEVA's technology.
