SEACOR to Sell U.S. Harbor Towing Operations

SEACOR Holdings said Monday it had agreed to sell its U.S. harbor towing operations and assets from its Seabulk subsidiary to two parties, E.N. Bisso & Son, Inc. and Bay-Houston Towing Co.The E.N. Gulf LNG Orders Four New Tugs

Gulf LNG Tugs of Brownsville has ordered four new tugs to serve the Rio Grande LNG export facility (RGLNG), which has commenced construction in Brownsville, Texas.Gulf LNG Tugs is a joint venture formed between Bay-Houston Towing Co., Moran Towing Corporation and Suderman & Young Towing Company to provide tug services for RGLNG under a long-term tug services agreement.The company announced Tuesday it signed construction contracts with Coden, Ala. shipyard Master Boat Builders and Port Neches, Texas shipbuilder Sterling Shipyard.

Coden, Ala. shipbuilder Master Boat Builders has delivered the new tug Hayden Grace to Bay Houston Towing Co. for operations in Galveston, Texas.The new 85-foot-long vessel is the first in a series of three RApport 2600 tug designed by Canadian firm Robert Allan Ltd. ordered by Bay Houston Towing. Bay Houston Towing Orders New Tug from Master Boat Builders

Master Boat Builders, Inc. on Wednesday announced that it will construct a fourth new tugboat for Bay Houston Towing Co. The Coden, Ala. shipbuilder currently has three tugs under construction of a different design for the Houston-based owner.Naval architect and marine engineering firm, Robert Allan Ltd. designed the tugboat, which will meet U.S. Coast Guard Subchapter-M regulations and will be classed through the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS).The tugboat will have an overall length of 98’-6” feet, beam of 42’-5”, and produce a bollard pull of over 80 metric tons.

Gulf Island Shipyards Delivers New Tug to Bay-Houston

Bay-Houston Towing Co. in January took delivery of the final tug in a series of five ordered from Gulf Island Shipyards LLC in 2018.George M and its four sister vessels are Z-Tech 30-80 tugs designed by Robert Allan Ltd. The series' first tug Mark E. Eastern Shipbuilding Launches the Zyana K

Eastern Shipbuilding Group, Inc. has launched the Escort Tug ZYANA K (Hull 238) for Bay-Houston Towing Co. on February 19, 2016. A series of four Robert Allan, LTD. (RAL) designed Z-Tech 2400 Class Terminal & Escort Tugs is currently under construction at Eastern’s Nelson Street facility. The ZYANA K is scheduled to deliver in 2016. The launch ceremony was held at Eastern’s Nelson Street facility and hosted by Patrick D’Isernia, Project Manager at Eastern, with employees and guests in attendance. Patrick praised the Eastern employees for all their hard work and G&H Towing for their commitment to the project. Deacon Earl Mirus of St. John’s Catholic Church of Panama City, FL. blessed the vessel. Jennie Frey had the honor of christening the vessel.

Eastern Shipbuilding Bags Four Z-drive Tugs Order

Bay-Houston Towing Co. announced it has contracted with Eastern Shipbuilding in Panama City, Florida to build four new z-drive tractor/ASD tugs. The new tugs will utilize the popular and proven Z-Tech 2400 series designed by naval architect Robert Allen. The new builds are currently under construction with the delivery of the first tug scheduled in December of this year. The four new Z-Tech 2400’s will join their sister tug, the CHLOE K, which is currently servicing ships calling the Port of Houston. With eight z-drive tugs already in service, these four additional tugs will provide Bay-Houston’s fleet a total compliment of 22 harbor tugs servicing the Ports of Houston, Galveston, Texas City, Corpus Christi and Freeport, Texas. The vessels dimensions are: Length 80 ft., Beam 38 ft.

Designers, Robert Allan, inform that Leevac Shipyards has completed the construction of the second of their  Z-Tech designed 2400 tugs. The latest, 'Zeus', has been delivered to its owners Suderman & Young Towing Company of Houston, Texas following the earlier delivery of her sister 'Chloe K' to her owners: Bay-Houston Towing Co. of Houston, Texas. Both tugs are operated by G&H Towing of Galveston, Texas on behalf of their owners. The Z-Tech Class tugs from Robert Allan Ltd. are designed primarily for operation in major ports and marine terminals.

LEEVAC Builds Two Harbor Tugs for Bay-Houston

LEEVAC Shipyards, LLC recently delivered the first of two Z-Tech 2400 harbor tug boats, the Chloe K to Bay-Houston Towing Co. TheChloe K was constructed at LEEVAC Shipyard Jennings, LLC and was later transported, via one of LEEVAC’s own dry-docks, to LEEVAC Shipyard Lake Charles, LLC facility where the Chloe Kreceived her final outfitting, commissioning, and testing. “This is the first tug that LEEVAC Shipyards, LLC has built in many years. Bay-Houston Towing Accepts New Tugboat

Bay-Houston Towing Co. announced it has taken delivery of the first Z Tech 2400 tugboat, the Chloe K, designed by Robert Allan Ltd. of Vancouver, and built by Leevac Shipyards LLC of Jennings, La. The Z Tech 2400 tugs are a smaller version of the Z Tech 7500 tugs that are already in Bay-Houston Towing Co.’s fleet. While they are smaller, they have enormous power for their size. •The forward deck (over the skeg) has a low, flat sheer, creating a spacious, relatively flat and safe working deck, without any obstructive anchor chains, etc.

LEEVAC Shipyards Contracted to Build TwoTugboats

LEEVAC Shipyards Jennings, LLC, Jennings, LA, has signed contracts with Bay Houston Towing Co. and Suderman & Young Towing Company, both of Houston, TX, to build two (2) 80' x 38' x 16' Z-Tech 2400 Class Terminal / Escort Tugs. "We are very excited to have this opportunity to begin this partnership with companies like Bay Houston and Suderman & Young" said Christian Vaccari, President of LEEVAC. Bay-Houston Towing’s Third Conrad Z-Tech Tug

Bay-Houston Towing Co. has taken delivery of their third Z-Tech 7500 tug. The Z-Tech 7500 design is the largest of the Robert Allan line of Z-Tech tugboats. The Hunter M was delivered to Bay-Houston in April of this year by her builder, Conrad’s Orange Shipbuilding yard after dock and sea trials in Orange, Texas. The Hunter M is the final boat in the series of Z-Tech 7500’s to be completed by Orange Ship Building. The arrival of the Hunter M brings to 18 the number of harbor tugs in Bay-Houston Towing Company’s fleet.
