VARD to Build World's Largest Superyacht

Amels Launches 77m Luxury Expedition Yacht La Datcha

As privately owned, luxury yachts near the size of the average cruise ship, behold a new option, which is anything but commonplace: The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection. At 624 feet and 11 decks, her exterior profile resembles a sleek superyacht design, not a cruise ship on the horizon. Launched in October 2018 at Hijos de J. Barreras Shipyard in Vigo, Spain, the flagship of the new brand is now in outfitting and interior finishing. The project was co-managed by The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection, Marriott and Tillberg Design of Sweden.

Baglietto Hull Construction on Schedule

Lürssen Launches 95m Superyacht Madsummer

The German shipyard Lürssen launched the 95-metre yacht Madsummer, previously known as project Fiji, from its yard in Rendsburg.The 311-footer superyacht hit the waters of the Kiel Canal and showed off her exterior lines designed by Harrison Eidsgaard."The Owner’s captain and Moran Yacht & Ship supervised the project and brought in their huge spectrum of experience and consolidated knowledge," said a press release.Madsummer‘s exterior lines done by London-based yacht and aircraft design studio Harrison Eidsgaard. The interior is designed by Studio Laura Sessa.Among the special features are a large beach club and spa area with a sea terrace on the lower deck. On the upper deck aft, there is a walkable skylight and an integrated fireplace for cosy moments in the evening.

Gulf Craft Unveils Majesty 175

AIDA Cruises will help the Port of Hamburg ring in its 827th anniversary with the christening if its new flagship, AIDAprima. AIDA Cruises will christen its 11th ship, AIDAprima, in Hamburg on May 7, 2016 as part of the celebrations for the 827th Hamburg Port Anniversary. From April 30, 2016, Hamburg will be the home port for AIDAprima’s seven-day round trips to Western Europe metropolises such as London, Paris, Brussels and Amsterdam. “With AIDAprima, we are opening a new chapter in the history of the cruise industry,” said Felix Eichhorn, President AIDA Cruises.

Carnival Corporation & plc will launch four new ships in 2016 across four of its global cruise brands. These additions are part of the 17 ships scheduled for delivery for Carnival Corporation’s 10 brands through 2020. “As we execute our fleet enhancement plan – which includes a long-term strategy for bringing highly efficient, state-of-the-art ships to market and elevating the overall cruise experience, we are excited about seeing these new ships come to life this year,” said Arnold Donald, CEO of Carnival Corporation.

Beiderbeck Motoryacht from Horizon

A new masterpiece from Beiderbeck Designs: in Taiwan, the yacht designers from Bremen are using the technical platform of a 33-metre long Horizon motoryacht for their latest commission for an experienced German owner. They are combining maximum comfort and all-round visibility at all levels in a particularly elegant way with a whole range of cleverly thought-out features. The customised 108-foot long double decker with its half-raised pilothouse (RP) on a tried and tested hull is already under construction and will be equipped with 2x 2,600 HP MTU-engines. Hamburg Hosts 12 Cruise Ships for Ports 825th Anniversary

Over the last weekend (May 9-11, 2014), 12 cruise ships visited the Port of Hamburg and were counted in total with 27 sail-by passages in front of the Landungsbrücken pontoons. Overall, 37,000 cruise passengers were handled during the three days of celebration. The cruise ships prominently showed themselves to the nearly one million visitors of the Port Anniversary, who were able to experience the ocean giants up close. AIDAprima launched at MHI's Tategami Plant at Nagasaki Shipyard

AIDAprima, was launched at the Tategami Plant of Nagasaki Shipyard of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries on 3rd May. At 2 p.m. local time, the building dock gates were opened and the ship touched water for the first time. AIDAprima was later hauled from the MHI Tategami shipyard to the Kojagi Dock on the outskirts of Nagasaki. Before the ship docks there for further fittings, diverse technical systems will be extensively tested in the next days. The highlights of the ship of a totally new AIDA generation include the Beach Club housed beneath a weather-independent transparent dome, the "Four Elements" with water slide, climbing walls, and the brand new AIDA Mini Club providing childcare for young children 6 months and older.

Alia Launched the 41m Superyacht Rüya

Turkish shipyard Alia Yachts has launched the 41.29 metre full-displacement motor yacht Rüya. She is a tri-deck sub-500 gross tonne motoryacht that was built in all-composite to Lloyds Register standards and adheres to LY2 and MCA. Following a build period of just over two years, Rüya will now undergo extensive sea trials before delivery to her new owners in September 2015. “We have kept a low profile to date, because building high quality custom yachts has always been our main focus,” says Gokhan Celik, President of Alia Yachts. “And this approach has paid off.
