Maersk Line Completes Recapitalization

Maersk Line, Ltd has completed a recapitalization of its U.S. flag container fleet. The effort involved an investment of nearly $400m for the purchase and reflagging of nine ships into the U.S. registry. In keeping with its commitment to provide world-class U.S. flag transportation services, MLL's recapitalization plan called for the company to remove nine older, smaller ships from its U.S. fleet and replace them with larger, faster and more modern U.S. flag tonnage. MLL Adds Two Vessels to MSP and VISA

Maersk Line, Limited (MLL) announces the addition of two U.S. flag roll-on/roll-off vessels in the Maritime Security Program (MSP) and Voluntary Intermodal Sealift Agreement (VISA). The two vessels will carry U.S. government, preference and commercial cargo. Both vessels will operate in a round-the-world service and have completed the reflagging process. "MLL is pleased to conclude arrangements with Höegh Autoliners and Alliance Navigation, its U.S. affiliate, and to offer roll-on/roll-off service to our U.S. government and U.S. flag customers," said Bill Kenwell, MLL Senior Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer. MLL Aligns Management Structure

Maersk Line, Limited (MLL) has announced a realignment of its Senior Management Team structure to serve clients and grow its position in target markets. William J. (Bill) Kenwell will assume the title of Senior Vice President & Chief Commercial Officer with responsibility for leading commercial activities and relationships with key government agencies. Reporting to Kenwell will be MLL’s U.S.-flag Liner and Integrated Defense Logistics business units as well as all Marketing and Proposal activities. Kenwell will report to MLL’s President and Chief Executive Officer, John Reinhart. All of MLL’s maritime-related business units will transfer reporting to Steve Carmel, Senior Vice President, Maritime Services.
