BMT Group Finalizes Purchase of NavCon
Maritime design, engineering and risk management consultancy BMT Group Ltd. has agreed to purchase Navegação e Controle Indústria e Comércio Ltda (NavCon), a Brazilian specialist in monitoring systems for the offshore oil and gas industry. BMT Scientific Marine Services Ltda was previously a minority stakeholder in NavCon. This new agreement fully integrates NavCon into the BMT group of companies, and the company’s name has officially changed to BMT NavCon Ltda. NavCon was founded in 1998 and is located in the technological site of São José dos Campos, São Paulo, Brazil. The company specializes in data acquisition and motion monitoring systems, navigation and heading reference systems, and GNSS receivers for offshore, air, land and space applications.
Navcon Sells Stake to BMT Scientific
Navcon Navegacao e Controle Ltda, a Brazilian specialist in monitoring systems for the offshore oil and gas industry, entered into a formal partnership with BMT Scientific Marine Services Ltda. The company has an advanced R&D background and widespread experience of working offshore Brazil. Navcon’s current oil and gas activities align with those of BMT and include anchorage torpedoes and riser monitoring systems, monobuoy monitoring systems as well as metocean and wave measurement buoys. BMT Opens in Rio
BMT Scientific Marine Services (BMT) is pleased to announce the opening of a new office in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Trading as BMT Scientific Marine Services Ltda, BMT will operate in Rio de Janeiro as an extension of its existing offices in California and Houston. The local presence provided by this new base in South America is integral to BMT's ongoing effort to enhance product sales, delivery and service support to Petrobras and other oil and gas firms in Brazil.
